We’re keen on Joseph Boende who plays for Juventus’s youth team. Contract is up in 2024. He’s a defensively minded cm who came through Anderlechts academy.

Just saw the news, they're discussing the new deal and trying to find an agreement between the parts. Would be a shame to lose him as we're finally (finally!) starting to reap the fruits of our youth team (the one he recently played in is more like a B team, it's for U23 players and plays in Serie C, the equivalent of League One.)

We have - or had - so many talented midfielders in our youth team, some of which Allegri has finally started to regularly employ in the first team this season and which could be the solution to replace some old or overpriced players we still have in the team (or new ones that we could make the error of buying.)

Boende could have an important role because we don't really have a talented defensive midfielder among the young ones - Fagioli, Miretti and Rovella are more controlling or creating midfielders rather than ones that "chop wood", as we say here. They obviously can track back, tackle and intercept, but it's not their primary talent.

Let's see how this pans out, if he doesn't renew with us I'd definitely prefer to see him go to Brighton than somewhere else, but I hope he'll find a place in our team.
