So, after years of moaning about same old players, young player, fresh blood joins squad, lets welcome him with open arms.

No, f*** that, lets just have a go and throw vitriol around before he's even had a chance.

Unbe-f***ing-leivable, some of you

This. Maybe they'll play with a bit of pride now. Hopefully Terry will get ruled out and we can start without an arsehole in the first game.

this. i was happy when Lampard was ruled out, and the more new youngsters the better.

As others have said Micah Richards turned down the option of being on the standby list. I said at the time that Mertens was lucky not to get a straight red. Very dangerous.

football is about a team that gels, and if someone had some poor games this season so what - if he is fit and can kick it hlf straight, you never know - it might just be the key that fits in the hole to make the team gel.

If I was honest, Lescott/Terry, or Lescott/Jagelka would be my CB pairings anyway, with Johnson and Cole either side. He's still got Jones in the squad who's natural position is supposedly centre half. I don't see Cahill dropping out and Kelly coming in as making any real difference to our chances to be honest, I think Cahill was only getting in ahead of Lescott because of the Chelsea connections.

This.

Roy has been in the job two matches. Both of which we have won and not conceded a goal and yet somehow people are moaning about him. Unbelievable!!!

I for one think we will do okay at the Euros and love the fact that injuries will force a few young fresh players into the squad.

When we went out of the world cup everyone wanted us to forget about the Euros and blood some youngsters now we will probably have to and I think it's great.

I reckon a few people will be very surprised by how well we do actually.

Good post, so many on here seem to fall over themselves to be more negative than the previous poster

Rio Ferdinand omitted because of "footballing reasons"? Bollocks. Why can't someone stand up and say it's because of John Terry's court case next month. The injury to Gary Cahill is possibly karma for the FA bullshitting and it's coming back to haunt them.

Micah Richards must be fuming has been good for the champions this year yet is not even in the squad or called as replacement and Martin Kelly gets the nod poor decision for me
