[Football] Cabbage thrown at Steve Bruce

Aston Villa have sacked manager Steve Bruce after two years in charge.

Villa are 12th in the Championship but have only won one of their past nine league matches and drew 3-3 with bottom club Preston on Tuesday.

The 57-year-old had been under increasing pressure from Villa supporters, with one fan*throwing a cabbage at him*before Tuesday's game"

Whoever goes there is certainly going to have their work cut out. The expectations are ridiculous, being as Villa as a club and fanbase don't feel they "belong" at that level, despite the chronic mismanagement there over many, many years. Randy Lerner completely lost interest and spent years trying to bin them off. Then that clown Tony Xia came in, thought the Championship would be a breeze, and nearly bankrupted them trying to get them up. Now they have these new Egyptian owners who (apparently) have loadsamoney, but as we've seen many, many times before, that doesn't necessarily translate into them running a football club with any gumption.

It'll be interesting to see who they appoint. No doubt it'll be a "big name", maybe a famous ex-player, someone high profile to generate lots of clicks and get Villa back on the map. That'll do for the next six months at least, till it all goes belly-up again. Shambles of a club.

Newmarket.
In his defence the cabbage tosser stated he thought he'd heard Bruce say he wanted to build a team with a salad foundation.
Not going to happen now.

Should have stayed with a BIG club
But Villa are MASSIVE. One of the "cornerstones of English football" as some tit said when they nearly went bust.

They're as bad as Leeds and Wedslol for ideas above their station as they've been utterly shit and boring for YEARS.

Steve's face does look a bit like a red cabbage. Maybe everyone's got this wrong and it was actually a gesture of support.

They should never have sacked him after that cabbage throwing incident. It was the perfect moment to put him on gardening leave.

To be fair things had been simmering there for a while, it was only a matter of time before things came to the boil.

He does look strained, but now out of work he will have time to go to the Savoy for luncheon. He may get a little angry and throw a Hispi fit.....

After that he can go home and have a Napa.......
