Just plain stupid... He knows the striker situation yet does something like this

Idiot

Clearly didn't learn his lesson from the Sheff Wed red so time for him to spend a long while away from the first team after his ban to have a think about how he let everyone down.

Wow three threads at the same time have appeared.......

Makes me think some people take great glee in bad things happening to the Albion just so they can hover over their keyboards to start these sort of threads immediately.

Half of you need to grow the **** up! Yes he's an idiot but to wish him never to play for us again is the biggest over reaction I've ever read!! Get a ****ing grip!

Why defend him? What if he does this in the play offs for example?? It is unacceptable, do not defend it.

I've always backed Barnes as a player, he has been very important at times during his career here but this season he's got 2 pathetic red cards, that's poor for any player let alone a striker.

Time to offload him in the summer, he has let us down one too many times.

Defend him because he plays for the club you 'support' and is a bloody good servant. Do you 100% what went on then?

Ashley Barnes should never, ever play for us again

Loving the way some of you turn on an Albion player before you know the facts. True fans - well done

Fact one: we only have one recognised striker for the foreseeable future

Fact two: this isn't the first time his temper will have cost us dearly

Fact three: he never appears to learn

Fact four: Gus appears to have given him chance after chance yet he still throws it away

Fact five: He's as thick as a brick

Think that's enough justification for making a reasoned judgement.

"foul and abusive language".... sooooo utterly pointless and stupid

I do like Barnes, but it's very hard to keep it up when he clearly isn't learning what is becoming a very obvious lesson.

Silver linings and all that... maybe this will force Gus into playing Buckley through the middle.

He is a professional - operative word here. 90th minute, he thinks he should have a pen and rants at the ref. "Losing it" is not an excuse, not now, not at such a crucial time in the season. This is something we could well have done without.

Of course it isnt an excuse, he has an attitude problem which seriously needs sorting.

Exactly. "Knee-jerk" and "Overreaction" are words that come to mind.

Confirmed as foul and abusive language at the ref. So, still going to defend him? Is that acceptable or would you say it is the reaction of a someone selfish and petulant?

Would like to hear Barnes/Poyet version of events first and whether it leads to a appeal before going off on one

Just in case he reads NSC on the coach, wouldn't want him to get upset.

Was it a penalty?

Assuming what he said was worthy of a red card (which it probably is, why would the ref make it up?) then is another stunningly stupid, petulant and unprofessional piece of conduct from Barnes. Yes he is still relatively young, but at 23 he should be taking more responsibility for his actions. He is a fringe first teamer given the progress of Spanish Dave and Orlandi, and this will only further weaken his position at the club.

If we only get one loan striker in we may not have the option of freezing him out completely this season, but Poyet's patience must either be at breaking point or completely exhausted after today. We will find out in the summer ultimately.

Injuries permitting he will be lucky to start another game this season...
