A lot of people will be disappointed. Maybe the club could look at cup games differently in the future. if STHs are not willing to take up their seat for the 1 ST cup games and the club have to sell their seat to someone else. Then maybe that person who paid for the seat has first dibs on it for the next round match. It should be loyalty based, I know people on here will say its a cost issue. But if we had drawn Arsenal in the last round it would have sold out.

Using that criteria it is ok for me to buy 3 season tickets but being unable to attend the Newcastle match due to yhe kick off being moved and conflicting with another arrangement which forced me to not attend The Amex, had it stayed at 3.00pm would have attended, I would then be penalized and stopped from attending other cup games. That seems very fair, I dont think

That's not always the case for STHs is it though, you have some who share it around, some who have one and can not make Night games. A lot of non STHs go to just as many matches. The cups are separate from the ST, therefore loyalty should be added as an when people buy cup tickets

Sorry, can't go with that logic at all. I don't share my ticket and anyway trying to establish which games a STH did and didn't go to would be impossible. If there are non STH's going to as many games as STH's why on earth aren't they buying a ST at (what is it?) 75% of the cost?

STH's are by far the most loyal and give the club a great degree of financial certainty that lets them operate efficiently

Having paid for my 23 games a season I think I'd happily tell the club to do one if they said I couldn't go to a round 4 match because I didn't go to a round 3 one ... whatever the reason for my non attendance.

The loyal ones are the fans who go all the way from the South to the Northern slums on Tuesday nights in my book, that gets a lot of respect from me. Simply attending a 3rd Round cup match is totally different, i attended it - yet im nowhere near as loyal as some of our fans who travel to ALL the games. Then you have those who were STHs at Gillingham and Withdean.....

This season I have a ticket purely to guarantee all cup games. I've even put a holiday due to end on Friday 25th January on hold in case we play on that evening. Bring on Arsenal and then Man U and Liverpool in the Final.

Think it works out that you effectively get 8 games "free" compared to matchday prices when you get an st

For ease and convenience, I have a feeling Arsenal will agree to being given 3200 ish, which on current capacity is just under 12%. This means they can have the 2 blocks in the south, the corner and those 2 dreaded ESL blocks (S1A, S1B).

The advantage to us is that we don't have to move those STH's who are in the other south blocks. Such an arrangement should also mean about 1000 extra seats in addition to those STH's not taking their seats would be available.

If it's Swansea, they won't want any more than 2000, so we would also have the ESL blocks for ourselves.

Does anyone know if it is Arsenal is it physically possible to have any of the following ready in time for the game?

A) The middle tier wrap around extension over the SW corner
B) The corporate boxes in the South Stand
C) The new NE Corner.

I appreciate the NW corner is still some way off.

I don't see why not. New ground for them, their away attendances in the Premiership are good and they always used to bring a lot to us in lower leagues. Depends on kick off time I guess.

Always has been? What a load of guff, unless by always you mean about two years. There have been plenty of times when getting a cup stub has meant access to another cup ticket. Not saying whether this is right or not btw, just hate such confident and black and white statements which are clearly wrong.

I am not suggesting that the loyal STH lose their right to have a cup ticket. STHs buy up front as a commitment to attend every game for that they get it reduced. There are plenty of non STHs that attend just as many matches as STHs, having a ST does not always equate to being the biggest spender or the one that attends most matches. It's about fairness and making sure that those who regularly attend matches get the chance to get a ticket, not about paying up front for a ST and attending a dozen or so matches. STH does not always equal the one who attends most matches,

Strangely this was in operation when we beat man city at withers, that's FIVE years ago btw.

My lad and I were at the Millennium Stadium the last time Arsenal won a trophy (2005 in case you were wondering) and despite taking him several times to the Amex last year and him joining me on the awaydays this year, he still calls himself an Arsenal fan. He would love to get tickets for this game but I can't make the Saturday, so we're hoping for a Sunday game.
