I agree with Locky, Brovian and Chappers .... I think Knight has been our star this season without a shadow of a doubt .... good grief when we lost Zamora did we ever think we would find a replacement who wouyld score 25 goals plus for us!

In fact I think Chippy, Cullip and Virgo have all been better for us this season than Butters ....

but that said he is Player of the Season and for that alone we have to say well done and give him a good shout tomorrow (except for me cos I'll be at Carlisle!)
:p

Totall agree - I didn't vote for him in my top three, is anyone going to admit to having done so?

He is definatley the most improved player of the season and who would of thought this time last year that our best back four this season would consist of Virgo, Cullip, Butters and Harding!!

All four deserve praise :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

With Cullip being my player of the season
Butters most improved
Harding young player of the season
Virgo most versatile player of the season

What's people's problem with this. he's been really consistent and the best defensive partner for DC since Morgs gave up.

And did BZ get the POTY award more than Danny Cullip ??????

I say

Well done Guy Butters - derserved recognition for a terrific season.

Yes, of course Knight's goals have been important, but can anyone really object to the award going to one of the central defensive pairing (with the other 2nd)? We are by no means one of the highest scoring teams in the division, let alone the league, but we have one of the best defensive records in the division, and no-one in the entire league, for God's sake, has conceded less at home. You can say all you like along the lines of "without Knight's goals where would we be", but, quite seriously, where would we be without our defensive performances this season?

The point is the defence wouldnt have been any different whoever partnered Cullip at the back.

Yet without Leon we would have been screwed.

What does Butters add to the team - NOTHING. Virgo and Hinsh are as good players as him if not better
Without Leon Knight we would already be relegated

Leon must be wandering what the hell he has to do

Change his attitude for one. Imagine what he could achieve if he actually tried.

How can Guy Butters winning be a farce? More people voted for him than anyone else. End of. I cannot believe what I am reading on here. What do people have against our most consistent performer and best defender this season?

If people voted for him cos he was crap last season, and good this season - then, for me, that's not the right way of thinking. But he was a good player in his own right this season. I believe (albeit with no firm evidence) that Leon didn't win not because of his ability - that is beyond question - but because of his tendency to float in and out of games. Imagine if Butters had played lke that. I do think he would struggle if we went up, but that is a different debate altogether.

IMHO, I think the final standings do reflect the quality of service and effort we have had from our players. If this was the case, I would assume Chippy was 4th.

By all means, disagree, but to label the choice of your fellow supporters as a farce is going a bit far.

Marvelous scenes, Guy. Well done.

I agree entirely.

Leon might have scored 25 goals but he's done it with help from the team. Most of them have been from the spot anyway. A lot of the time he hasn't looked bothered.

I voted for Butters and I have to say well done to him.

I'm not saying it should have gone to Knight, and I agree that Butters is the most improved player. But BEST? Come on!

Still, fair play to him, I only hope that he doesn't think we're taking the piss out of him again.
