What's wrong with just having an ordinary pukka pie?

Way out west
Just thank your lucky stars that it is the Lizard in charge, who despite being open about his Jewish background has not banned pork products at the club, I call that good business sense and an enlightened approach. Clearly these pies represent an effort to offer a healthy option for those who want it or for whom eating meat is not an option. Contrast this with the chairman at Forest Green, who is a vegan, who decided that the club would no longer sell any products involving red meat...no more burgers, hot dogs or the traditional half-time bovril!

Butternut squash is the food of the devil! :lolol:
Don't tell that to Wifey, her fav recipe (good point SA).
Cut squash in half, top to bottom.
Scoop out pulp and seeds.
Bake in oven for 30 mins, with butter, herbs, garlic, whatever in the hole.
Take out and remove flesh juices etc into a bowl.
leave about 1cm of flesh around the edge.
Mash flesh with cheese, walnuts bacon, again whatever takes your fancy.
Top with more cheese
Bake for 15 more mins.

Job done.

This just goes to prove that there simply MUST be a KFC, McDonalds or Chinese takeaway at the ground serving good, wholesome British food as opposed to this poncy foreign muck. It's a football ground, not the f***ing Ritz.

Never mind CAMRA, support CAMREP - The Campaign for Real Pies

American, American, Chinese? Doesn't sound like wholesome British food to me.

What's the problem? If you like meat you buy the meat pie, if you're a veggie you buy the veggie pie and if you don't like pies you don't buy the pies. Today's message has been brought to you by the Pie Information Board.

I fear my trolling is too subtle in this case

It was a quality attempt  but I fear there is a large amount of whoosh going on for some posters here, especially if they didn't read the North Stand Kollective meltdown thread

My life, that was almost getting to sound healthy until the bacon and cheese entered from stage left. Tasty!

That's the story of my cooking life!

Can't stand the stuff, myself, but Wifey swears by it as a handsome supper.

They are horrible. More like Pukey Pies, than Pukka pies

We could have these (and they are made in Shoreham)http://www.higgidy.co.uk/pies

Higgidy Pies, for example, was set up in Shoreham-on-Sea, Sussex, by husband and wife team Camilla and James Stephens in 2003. Turnover has grown from £250,000 in the first year to a projected £6.5m in 2009.

It began by making own-label pies for takeaway food retailers such as EAT, but set up Higgidy in 2006 and branded products now account for 60pc of sales, with distribution through Sainsbury's and Budgens stores as well as delicatessens.

"We are competing with the supermarkets' own-label brands," says Mrs Stephens, stressing that all of the 300,000 pies Higgidy makes each month are handmade by 75 staff who work across three shifts, producing varieties such as lemon chicken pie with bacon, spinach and lentils and a "skinny" Moroccan vegetable and feta pie.

At the other end of the market, Shire Famous Pies makes more than 15 million pies and sausage rolls a year in Leamington Spa and says pies at football matches are as popular as ever.

Shire Famous Pies claims leadership of the football and rugby markets, supplying more than 70 clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea, and claims to have developed the UK's fastest-selling football pie - the chicken balti pie.
