Tonight was nothing about luck. Leicester were poor 1st half but they have a top class manager to give them a rollicking and tweek a few things. They also have the quality to respond to those tweeks. We simply don't.

Thats because no tweaking goes on. Its just the same old game plan and the occasional like for like sub. I am waiting for this man to show me the tactical nous needed at this level.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Hughton & Potter.

Every team gets luck during the season, Burnley’s equaliser is a great example. Anyone want to list our “lucky” moments this season?

It doesn’t matter how shit you are, sometimes you get away with it with a bit of luck. Can we count the last minute misses by Fulham and Wolves as luck? That’s really all I can think off, can’t think of any lucky goals we’ve scored that gained us points though

I said the same on the match thread. Almost as soon as the final whistle went there were people bemoaning ‘bad luck’ and being ‘cursed.’ It’s an excuse. It will get us relegated. We don’t need to just ‘move on.’ Something needs to be done and that is the managers job.

Could do a job?

I don’t think we were unlucky last night but there is a pattern emerging. I don’t have a single complaint about the first half but we couldn’t cope with their changes. Our insistence on playing our football no matter what is frustrating. I can hear Potter saying that in my head.”Just play your football lads”.

We’re a lovely technical team. But that’s it. No plan B. No killer instinct. Very little leadership.

You can put the actual result down to Big Bob’s howler if you want but they were getting corners for a reason. It reminded me of the West Brom home game, except Leicester had enough quality to keep going and we made a defensive mistake.

Or you could put the result of the game down to lallana giving away the ball in a crucially position for the first, putting the team on the back foot and Alzate leaving his man and doing diddly squat.

We will be fine but we do need that striker that's clinical.

I don't think anyone banked us to win against 2nd in the league.

I thought that was a great challenge, got enough on the ball and no penalty. Commentators agreed (stream).

All defenders watching that one would have revelled in it, as they would with the bissouma tackle. Tackles in the area like these are as good as goalie saves IMO.

Like everything that needs to be balance here. Is the reason we are not getting the results solely down to bad luck, no there are a range of factors. Are we unlucky, yes we are.

Take the last three games, either penalties half an inch either way against WBA and they go in off the post/cross bar. The farcical Lee Mason decision making. Lallanas header half an inch further and in off the post, we go two up. Benteke picking that moment to score a wonder goal.

We have been unlucky buys it’s not the only reason we are losing.

How can you call someone ignorant, but then proceed to tell them that Leicester were brilliant and we couldn’t cope, despite being by the far the better team for entire first half? We suffered from our usual missed chances and inadequate subs.
Inadequate subs has not been the narrative until recently. Hardly usual.

Hitting the crossbar and the post from 2 penalties really isn’t bad luck. It’s shit finishing.

- in the last two games we’ve moved to a back four after playing wing backs all season
- Maupay and Lallana up top last night for the first time... which worked
- took more risks with the ball and pressed them high rather than worrying about ball retention
- switched formation with the Alzate substitution, going back to wing backs (not like for like)

Other than that, you’re spot on

The top 12 threads this morning are all different takes on how shit we are. The thirteenth is about some bird called Megan.

I'm out.
