My favourite impromptu song from the North Stand tonight.

All together now!

"We'll score again, don't know where, don't know when...!!!"

Poyet, we reached the play offs.
Oscar, play offs once again.
How can a team that reached the play offs suddenly turn so shit? Hu-u-ghton.

Coz Hughton more or less inherited Oscar's play off reaching squad, didn't he?

Replace Hughton with David Burke and you've got a winner.

You have the germ of novel idea. Let us analyse this.

The song is called Bright Eyes. Our club is called Brighton. It is near as dammit a perfect match and it would therefore seem wise to replace one with the other to maintain the structural integrity of the original song. Following the same theme, the original lyrics in the third line can be made to apply to our current predicament with only minimal alteration. Doing so also avoids apportioning blame to any one individual: a sensible precaution as the causes of our current malaise are complex and difficult to encapsulate in two syllables. Therefore, I give you...

Brighton. We reached the playoffs.
Brighton. Playoffs once again.
How can the club that burned so brightly suddenly burn so pale? Brighton

Mind you, it is bloody miserable. Plus we still manage to massacre GOSBTS every time even though we hear it each match without fail. I don't rate our chances of doing this one justice.

I reckon it's best to just let this one lie.
