You may well be right Lord B, but I thought that the travel voucher only gave you so much off, not completely 'free' travel, (yes I know its not free cause you have to buy the vouchers but you get my drift).

The travel voucher is £1.00 per match. That will get you to and from the stadium via public transport within the area currently operated by the Travel Voucher scheme.

In other words, nothing has changed with the exception of it's now '£1.00 per match' rather than 'part of your match ticket'.

Thanks, thats cleared it up. 50p each way seems pretty reasonable to me.

Can you walk from where the 49 stops in North Moulsecoomb, without having to venture on to the A27?

Yes. If I remember correctly you walk along the opposite side of the road to the stadium to the Sussex Uni site and then under the subway to the stadium.

Titanic, you get off of the 49 at East Moulsecoomb, turn right straight away, along Luacruft Road towards Falmer school. Then there is a purpose built footpath to take you straight to the stadium. I would think it's a ten minute walk mate.

I only live around the corner, and will be using this route myself.

I have heard The Midway pub in Church Road are doing this. Easy 10 will probably be able to confirm.

The landlord there is organising a coach/minibus type thing from his pub (and back again obviously), as we have a group of about 20 of us all sitting together in the stadium, including said landlord and several locals from the pub, as well as me of course. I have no idea right now how many seats will be available on this, and not all 20 of us will be using it anyway, but our group will have first dibs on jumping on. If theres any spare seats available after our lot then I'm sure they will be acommodated.

Sounds great - thanks!

Yep. The 49 will still be every 10 minutes to within walking distance of the stadium. The update is that, once you've bought your Travel Voucher, it will be free.

I dont live in Portslade ( mum does) Im just wanting to park the car and have a few beers at the ground..

Where does the 49 run from? Is there a Brighton buses map on line, I have looked but cant find one.

You can even text bridada to 84268 and find out when the next one is due to leave. Or log on to Brighton Hove Bus and Coach Company for live departure times.

This is all a bit complicated, though. Portslade Station is the terminus. The easiest way is to use your eyes and watch out for the number 49 bus that will be standing at Bus Stop G. It's a big vehicle and difficult to miss.
