[Football] Burnley vs Fulham

This has actually split opinions more than I thought. I thought everybody would think a draw was the best option but seeing everyone's points of view a win either way has it's pros and cons.

Couldn’t care less about Fulham, I’m firmly looking up the table now with our performances. Palace, Newcastle and indeed Burnley if they do lose tonight, should be more concerned.

Palace have got 29 points and 14 matches to play. They'll stay up but below us and Burnley. I can see the final relegation place being between Newcastle and Fulham.

You do not actually have that decision to make. The Burnley v Fulham game is at 6.00pm, and the two CL matches are at 8.00pm.

(But you do have to choose between those, and Everton v Man City, at 8.15pm)

...with an added complication for some of the BHA Fan Forum at 7pm. Watching the Burnley v Fulham game will mean you won't know what progress the club have made in buying their own train.

I started reading this thread fairly sure what I wanted for the Burnley game but so many good arguments I'm completely unsure what I want now! I think I want a Burnley win or draw...

2. I really don't like Burnley's usual anti-football tactics.

Is the anti-football thing really an issue? I saw the 1-1 draw between Burnley and Briighton, and can't honestly say that Brighton were the entertainment kings and Burnley not worth watching. It looked a pretty even game to me.

But while you've been doing really well lately, has the feast of 1-0 and 0-0 results really been what people (neutrals) want to watch? Aren't goals an important part of the entertainment - or is a festival of 1-0 wins and 0-0 draws enlivened with lots of Potterball, the way forward?

Or has it just been a load of consecutive games where all the forwards on both sides forgot their shooting boots?

Draw. Gives us the best chance of finishing above both of them (as I think we could - and above Palace and Newcastle, and possibly Wolves and Southampton).

I was very impressed by Burnley against us, especially second half. Played some excellent football and I was very happy to take the point and move on.

That form appears to be taken on against Palace and hopefully they avoid defeat tonight.

Personally want a Fulham win. With next season in mind i'd rather a trip to Craven Cottage than a non-trip up to Newcastle, who I think are in real trouble if Fulham get a few points in their next 3 games. They play each other on the final day.

Not bothered either way in terms of us though. Not a hope in hell we are going down.

This Burnley anti football thing is overplayed. You do play like it sometimes with the head tennis and ball constantly in the air but honestly think for the most part there is a decent footballing side there who can keep the ball on the floor and play a bit.

Having been present for Albion's 0-0 draw at Wolves in April 2019, and the 0-1 defeat at Spurs three days later, I don't think I'll ever accuse other Premier League teams of playing anti-football!

And to answer your final question, I'm not convinced Albion's forwards actually possess shooting boots....

Burnley win, if Fulham win and then beat Sheffield United they would be 2 points behind us before we play palace. We do not need that sort of pressure. Draw would be ok.

Having been present for Albion's 0-1 defeat at Spurs, I don't think I'll ever accuse other Premier League teams of playing anti-football!

I thoroughly enjoyed our performance that night. It was an absolute classic of its kind (or would have been, if we'd hung on for two more minutes).

Contrary to later suggestion, too, we also had a couple of chances to win that game (can recall a Duffy header from a corner, and a Kayal break away where for a moment he was the only player in the Spurs' half).

Draw is better. Keep as many teams in the relegation mix as possible.
