I despair of Lallana, right at the end he turned perfectly to create a wonderful shooting opportunity for himself on the edge of the box and played a powder puff pass to a Burnley defender. Waste of space.
He was awful today

Does anyone else think we have too many coaches...?

We could do with off loading some of them , including the interpreter. Why is de Zerbi is struggling so much with our language after being here almost 24/7, talking everyday to the players for the last 18 months ?

I haven't heard much improvement in his English for the last few months.

Full on Potterball is back, that was a hard watch. We got away with a point

The back passing and slowing things down is fecking unforgivable imo. We have injuries but the style of play is back to negative as pretty well every manager has worked out De Zerbi ball now and there is no plan B. Potter got crucified for it from quite a few.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, we all knew it wouldn’t last though didn’t we?
We never looked that bad under Potter.

We might have had a few games where it was incredibly frustrating, seemed a bit slow and lacked cutting edge but we were always well organised with a game plan and some wonderful passages of passing play in every match. We were solid and did create opportunities.

That was a disjointed mess today. As it has been for most of this season.

I'm starting to feel genuinely anxious about us being relegated next season.

If we put aside August and the first half of September, we're left with only a few decent games, while the rest have been utterly disappointing. Our confidence seems to be lacking, and we're missing quality on the field.

We act and play as a pos 18-20 team.

However, we do possess some aces up our sleeve: Mitoma, March, Ensico, and Gilmour. And a few wild cards like Hinshelwood, Ferguson, and Undav which I keep telling myself will save us next season.

I am now of the opinion that RDZ wouldn't be able to right the ship, next season, even if he did really want to stay. I've seen this happen too often across 50+ years of watching pro sports -- the players have tuned out the coach for various reasons, and they need a fresh voice and approach. If RDZ doesn't leave, this will degenerate into a Spurs-Conte scenario and a relegation battle may indeed become reality in 2024-25.

.

Your head is never out of the transfer window - you know this 😂

Agree completely with you though - I do think Baleba shows a lot of promise but he looks a bit unstructured out there - actually they all do at the moment. This is what De Zerbi ball looks like with a squad isn’t very good at De Zerbi ball - too much rotation because of injuries, everyone struggling to develop partnerships and cohesion - an anathema to a system that relies on communication for perfect timing in the passing and in keeping possession.
And maybe, just maybe (it's possible...) a squad that's tired of the rigid, structured demands of De Zerbi ball.
Although, looking back (it seems a long time ago now 😞) we didn't look rigid when Mitoma and Pervis were marauding up one wing, and March up the other.
So yes... agreeing with you 👍.

I think the key step change in our season was the 0-4 to Luton. Before that, although we hadn't been getting results for a couple of months, we still looked the better team in a lot of matches despite all the injuries, but since the Luton match we've been abysmal most of the time. Good chances are not being created, today 20 shots none with an xG of over 0.1 a perfect example

Sorry but I'd love to see your average Englishman go to Italy and master what he has in the time he's been here. Not an issue for me

I don’t want to hear about us missing March or Mitoma.

Such a shit fizzle out of a season, we have the quality to steamroller Burnley, particularly in the second half when it was wide open

Why is it that non of us players want to move and make space for a pass or something else to run in it. Have they been told not to?

So frustrating, feels like the season ended 4 weeks ago

Bollocks!!
Unfortunately it starts with RDZ! The league season has been atrocious since September but since January It seems that players have switched off! Maybe RDZ isn't the coach he thinks he is and if he does stay he needs to improve otherwise TB will show him the door!

A poor performance all round today. We are still making chances though but such weak shots almost straight at the keeper. We had 8 shots on target and not one looked like beating the keeper.

If we have a dead ball coach he wants moving on. Corners , free kicks etc a complete waste of getting excited.
