He shouldnt be in the team. He's not top 10 PL player.

Great servant, good dead ball, I've seen all the stats about his pass completion, but he's so slow and wooden. Every time it comes to him, he stops, pauses the opposition get into position. You can't break quickly with the ball going into or through Gross too often. A great player and servant, but one of reasons we look to pedestrian. Dale Stephens did the same. Always slowed it down, but too much

Duffy is a monumental downgrade on White. Possibly even a liability.

HOWEVER... He is an exceptional header of the ball. Surely the most likely player we have to score from a setpiece tonight.

I’d argue Dunk is far more likely to score than Duffy.

No CB has scored more goals in last 4 seasons than Dunk

I assumed the 'we dont need to sign a centre back' was because we might revert to 4-4-2, but with this formation and Duffy involved that feels like a step backwards from last season.

A player that cost very little and is a PL top performer.

I was lambasted for suggesting just this a week ago

I was too. Apparently any criticism of the club or transfer policy is treason at the moment. I was told to go support Palace for suggesting that we would struggle without signing a striker.

Trying to stay calm I'm hoping that we are just a few weeks behind in terms of preparation but with some winnable games in our first 6 we potentially can't afford a slow start.
