Just as a note - not that it makes any of this any better...

It was the 18 yr old who has been charged with racism - it would appear his dad is just a loud mouth aggressive toss pot who when his son was being ejected from the ground, kicked off about it.

Reminds me of the saying “Not everyone in Burnley is a racist ****, some are just *****” :lolol:

I look forward to hearing their defence for which the incredulity will only be matched by its outlandishness.

"I waved and shouted at Bong and at the same time put my hand over my mouth to make the sound carry, your honour."

They’re such a weird bunch, really odd, incredibly thick.

If Tommy Elphick or Adam El-Abd was accused of racism in a match which had absolutely nowt to do with us, I don’t think a large section of Albion fans would embark on a campaign (with racist overtones) against the accuser.

It’s like being beamed back in time to 50’s Britain, and a reminder that the good old days weren’t.

Ish. We know at the very least that JRod - regardless of any racial element - is a massive bellend, telling another grown man they stink and doing a 6 year old playground gesture. That potentially deserves a small boo.

Yes it was a pathetic thing to say. But Albion fans were singing, "you know what you are" to him too. Obviously they meant "a massive bellend", but it could be construed as "a racist".

Burnley fans, no doubt out of bias for our own man, believe that Bong was mistaken (and no doubt a few believe he was lying). Brighton fans, no doubt out of bias for your own man, believe he wasn't mistaken (and no doubt a few believe he couldn't possibly have been mistaken).

It's unfortunate that fans on all sides didn't consider that booing and chanting at either player was not going to help anyone and would be likely to raise the temperature to levels where someone would do or say something stupid, or where racists would have the chance to use the issue for their own agenda.

The case has been considered and nothing was proven in either direction, both players have had their say in the media about the outcome and got on with their careers. Our involvement is not helpful, neither is WBA fans'. Burnley fans weren't even involved in the first place, but decided to wade into to the sensitive and complex issue of prejudice with the argument 'We believe him because he's from round here.' an opinion as ironically self defeating as Brighton fans who state that Burnley fans are all prejudiced because they're Northern.

Let's applaud those Burnley fans that had the courage and decency to report what they heard and not involve ourselves any further. Someone has to take the moral high ground. As one stereotype of Brighton fans held by other supporters is that we are obsessed with being seen to do so, let's prove them right. This time in the most difficult way: through our silence.

I did. Please read my post. Reporting abuse is not causing trouble, either rightly or wrongly.

Sometimes I wonder why I put people on ignore. Oh, actually, no, no I don't.

Stepping aside from the case in hand here, in general terms it seems that life bans are becoming or will become increasingly the norm for this sort of brain****wittery. Rightly so.

Also, where are the broflakes who are normally all over these threads, defending Yaxley Leninspart, calling people #clueless etc?

Oh, I just remembered. :lolol:

Fancy that.

Thought the South Today report was a bit naughty on all this. A 2 min or so report mentioning racial abuse etc etc. but not a mention of the fact that this was Burnley supporters. Just two men arrested at the Amex....

It’s worth noting Burnley FC didn’t carry out any investigation or take any action after our game up there last season. That was despite statements from BHA and the FA criticising the behaviour of their fans and their treatment of Bong.
