Yes. I lived in Burnham for 3 years as a kid. Nice enough place but in my opinion there is far more to do around the Torquay area, there are better places to stay and the region is prettier.

Lyme Regis
Burnham is a charming quaint traditional English seaside resort, doesn't compare to Lyme although very little does.

Crap Town
Went there on a day out about 20 years ago. Nice sandy beaches and a promenade. The train station is about 30 minutes walk away from the town. If you are going on a holiday I would pick Torbay.

It's a bit quiet. Torquay is a lot livelier.

Went with a g/f to BoS years ago and stayed with some relatives of hers. She wouldn't get at it as she was worried about the noise...

Has a nice putting green on the front as I recall ???

the site in question is a haven site...you have to pay for passes for club and swimming etc, and clubhouse price of drinks etc are a rip off...

what, for 1 minute?? nice fishing lake there as well near the caravan site.

stayed in a B@B there just off the town centre , didn't stop the bedroom antics. the owners had there own annex!!!

seem to remember there was a thriving live band scene around the pubs in the area as well.

I stayed in the lighthouse there a couple of years ago. (The stone one, not the hut on the beach.)

Depends on your age I'd say. If you like walking on a sandy beach, fine. If you want nightlife, stay in Brighton!

I went here when I was a kid, has it changed at all?

Make sure you go to Kent's Cavern in Torquay - World Heritage site & really interesting.

Dartmouth is just up the road - very nice - and a bit further afield, there are beaches at Bigbury-on-Sea and Bantham that are lovely. If you don't mind the fine shingle, Blackpool Sands is also very nice and there is a lovely cafe on the beach.
