You do have to wonder why we have loaned them the one player who could turn their current slump around.....
Would Alex Ferguson lend city a player who might help them progress .... of course not!!
Do we in 7th and chasing those above lend Palace in the Playoff spots a player who Holloway rates as a game changer.... of course we do!!
What Planet are Poyet, Barber and Bloom on FFS................

wow - your rare posts on here show how much this has annoyed you. i can only think that Gus is SO certain dobbie is useless that he is prepared to take the cash. clearly no one else wanted him and it's only holloway that reckons he can get something out of him. Gus must be thinking "no chance - and if you think he is any good and will turn it around for you - go ahead, i will laugh as you fail."

Obviously - if he does turn it all around and becomes a great player for them, it is going to look an awful move. But they must be very confident that they have taken some of the zaha cash (to help pay for U2 (ie ulloa/upson)) and sold them a very lazy house elf

You know nothing about the reality of the transfer. Man Utd have a big budget. We may have needed to shift a big earner on to assist with the playing budget & the Upson signing. Palace & Dobbie may have been the only option at that late stage. Dobbie cannot play against us as part of the deal which is a bonus

I'm with you on this, loaning a player to promotion rivals is plain stupid. It could cost us dearly. That the club don't really understand the additional risk that it's Palace makes them stupider.

Its a while barrel of DUMB.

It's only fair to Tony that we stick to a budget.

It must have been a good deal to agree this, and do we really want to keep paying our 5th choice striker just to refuse him playing for palace?

A good deal for all involved.

The facts are that Dobbie was earning a fair bit in wagesand yet nowhere near thr first team. It makes sense to off load. I know its not great off loading to a rival, but clubs with kind of cash to pay his wage demands will be our rivals. Not great that its Palace, but probably only deal on offer

We know all there is to know. We have loaned a striker to our rivals. And after the last transfer between our clubs went so well.

Not really though. Yes he has been loaned to our rivals. Not ideal. However, the reason why we may have needed to do it along with Dobbie & his agent and any possible contract conditions is beyond what we know though. Things are never as simple as they seem

What if it had been agreed either CMS, Hoskins or Dobbie had to go to get Ulloa...?

Surely the title of this thread should be "Bungling Brighton Boost Palace Promotion Prospects"? Then you get a nice double alliteration in there. No real comment on the actual subject, although I'm not sure how much Dobbie will boost them.

There are some idiots on here. People moan about us having weak centre backs, we loan out our fifth choice striker because he is reportedly our highest wage earner so we can afford the wages of a good centre back. No one else, other than Holloway, would have taken a chance on him given his performances/form here.

This. Some people so fail to see the necessities.

I cant see a problem, wouldnt make our match day squad, and he cant play against us, frees up wages......hope he can score goals there so they will buy him outright....my biggest fear is that he wont perform, and we will have to take him back
