Bumbling Boris de-bagged on the box

Anyone here see the Andrew Marr Show this morning, with Boris the blond baboon blithering through it? :bla:

Oh my word what an idiot, and a fine example of conservative hypocrisy and buffoonery he is too.

Right from the start you have to look at this deliberately tousled 'laddish' look he prefers. The make-up department has the usual job of putting the hair carefully out of place, for that 'gosh what a scintillating game of rugger I just played' look. So his Mum's friends told him how dreadfully 'cute' that blondie do was when he was a little boy - "ooh look at the little scamp, he looks so full of mischief. How sweet, here's an ice-cream".
Poseur.

Then, the interviewer (there in place of Marr) mentioned a recent Tory junket he was on, where his bills were on the taxpayer - and she underlined his previous claims that party-political events should NOT be paid by the taxpayer. So - he bumbles something about being Mayor, that someone else had done worse previously, and sputtered before the camera (and the rather calm lady, smiling as he writhed).
Hypocrite.

She mentioned his passion for playing ping-pong in his office of work (also covered by the taxpayers). 'Ah...but this is after office hours' he alluded quickly (ever the politician, eh Boris?), and detracted to the setting up of the big desk, with books as the net for his table tennis-ery. So, he stays in after work? To play a make-shift ping-pong presumably with another high-payed public employee?
Liar.

He pontificates against the "mad" Labour support for another runway at Heathrow (which I agree may well be unnecessary, inconvenient and costly), but confirms he does support the multi-bazillion pound project for a new airport somewhere along the Thames Estuary!
Say what? We have a major airport left of London with projected plans to expand - but Boris prefers another one costing magnificent amounts of money, within a few miles?
Moron.

BBC NEWS | Politics | Boris on Heathrow 'madness'

Now I know the tories were happy to have him set up in a nice profiled job of office in London, and pull some strings on their behalf when required - but if this twat is their example of a politician then the transparency is painful to witness.
I'd call it witless too, except it has to be a joke to someone.

He is a loathsome and dreadful cockpiece of the highest degree, a shameful stain on politics, to treat it all as a jolly jape as he does, rather than something that actually makes a massive difference to people's lives. I truly despise him.

But I didn't disagree with one single word that he said about Heathrow: in that respect he's dead right: expanding on that awful site is a cretinous mistake.

Yes, as I say above, I think I'm with you (and others) in echoing that sentiment. The excuse that it encourages foreign money in, and stimulates the workforce/economy/British international profile, doesn't wash for me either. However, Boris is also simply echoing the simple statements out there by others before him - and it works so well to go up against Labour on something that's been said for him. YET he bumbles on about his own plan for a completely new airport within miles! The cost would be astronomical, the land is either urban or rural, there's no such thing as 'wasteland' anymore - so he's talking about claiming a vast area of land somewhere else, adding to Heathrow's space/airspace and taking business to another, new hub?? :tosser:

What the eff are you on about then?
He wants to help out the current 'NIMBY's' where the new runway is planned for, but create a totally new airport!!

He is a right 'nob piece', on that you're not wrong.

On the airport issue to be fair, he did mention looking at the alternatives before his Thames Estuary plan, Gatwick, Stansted etc,etc

Also the proposal would be to close Heathrow when the new airport is up and running, similar to what they did in Hong Kong.

I like the Thames Estuary plan, but it will be horrendously expensive.

I haven't watched the video as I can't be arsed but I thought Johnson had stated he wanted to re-develop Manston airport in Kent which has the longest runway in the country, rather than a new airport in the Thames estuary ?

Funny that so many people voted for him then?

Just for the record have you ever stood for election, or are you one of those that voted for Brown to be PM.

Oh yeah, I've just remembered no-one voted for Brown to be PM. :tosser:

Of course the Tories never pulled a stunt like that either - I don't recall getting a chance to vote for John Major when Thatcher resigned either.

Anyway - I've personally never voted for "New Labour", so it's hardly a political point, but Boris Johnson is a bumbling joke and an embarrassment for London.

Remind us how many advisers he's lost already ?

Agree about Heathrow, but if I was campaigning against it, I wouldn't want him anywhere near it.

How long was it before Major went to the country after he took over from the god that is Thatcher.

Irrelevant - the system allows for an unelected Prime Minister, it's hardly a new labour invention. The system allows for unelected people to work in the cabinet too.

The system also allows for great power to be placed in the hands of unelected advisers.

Don't know if you've spotted how general elections work, but you get the chance to vote for a Prime Minister in this country.

Is this smiley your way of indicating that you don't know how the quote function works?

Regarding your above post, a lot of people probably don't care - they're the ones who haven't posted. It's not tricky really, is it?

In the words of the great prophet keep your snout out trunky. when I want your opinon I will pm you till then f*** off, I was in conflab with another poster.

was your first post on this thread, and not a single other person has replied to the point. If you were in a "conflab" about it, it was only in your own head.

You vote for the party not the PM.

Not to mention, in your second sentence there, the closing of Heathrow.
How old is Heathrow, and how much has recently been spent on it (e.g. a new terminal)?
Closing Heathrow would effectively waste the money already ploughed into that - so think of a number in the millions and square it, then add about 30% of that number to the total cost of a completely new airport.
