Should they be banned?

Irrelevance.

They already are. They are a pit bull breed and should not be owned by anyone.

At the very least they should have a muzzling order on them.

I have no idea why anyone other than a criminal moron would want to own such an ugly, dangerous, monster. Let alone have it in the house.

I’d like to see the breed wiped out.

What say you?

I think the new measures are sensible, it's not feasible to euthanize 50k to 100k dogs and many will be in the hands of decent owners. I just dont have any faith the police will be tough on anyone who flouts the rules, there's lots around here that are walked without muzzles, probably not registered either.

The police around here are absolutely useless, I don't believe for a second they will enforce the new laws. One of the local smackheads round here threatened the Co-op staff with a knife when he was challenged for shoplifting, two days later he was in the pub selling washing tablets.

The arrogance / idiocy of some of the owners is staggering.

Whining that their dog is harmless. Not a thought for the poor animals and people that get savaged by these abominations.

I read today that the same sort of people that buy XL’s are now looking at Cane Corso’s to buy online instead.

Have you seen these things? Simply insane.

There’s a tiny ground floor flat I pass on my walk to the shops. It has a 2’ x 5’ fenced area, what I could only describe as a “ground balcony” at the front, a few feet from the pavement. Railings around it are about 3’ high, I guess.

These two MASSIVE dogs sit there all day. I think they might be Cane Corso’s.

Small flat, an owner that could never control them, tiny outside area they they could step out of anytime. Dogs and kiddies walking past all day. The perfect conditions for those two beasts to lose their shit and maul someone. Nobody would stand a chance.

I cross over when I remember. A couple of times I’ve been in my own world and suddenly been growled at by this pair of ugly monsters. Nearly jumped out of my skin.

If they’re growling at passers by j reckon it’s only a matter of time before a toddler takes a step into their area and gets killed.

Look friendly, eh!

Why do these ****s think they need dogs like this anyway? Is it the equivalent of having a big car because you have a tiny willy or what?

I heard this early - that there may be 50-100,000 XL bullies in the country! I find that high number really shocking.

Sorry dog lovers, but they all, without exception, need to be put down.
Blame the twats that breed/want and own them.
They are simply too dangerous.

I agree. The ban is here and they are still attacking and killing people.

They should have been given three months to euthanise the animals, anyone seen with one after that? 5k fine, 6 months in prison, dog put down.

But nope, soft as shite rules mean that owners are simply ignoring the law.

Utter crap. There cannot be any decent owners of these monsters. Anyone with a simple brain cell would not think ever of owning such a thing. Hopefully these dogs will eat their owners and die of shit poisoning. It would do us all a favour.

Not feasible? That attitude is at the heart of the problem. IMO it is ‘not feasible’ NOT to wipe this breed out. Default prison sentence of 10 years for anyone caught breeding these wild animals.

Every one of these dogs has the potential to rip someone’s face off.

It’s not just down to the owners. Although the fact that it’s almost exclusively bellends that own these monsters doesn’t help.

Humans are so f***ing stupid at times.

Tbh, I would omit the 'almost' - everyone who wants one of these IS a bellend, without question.

We met a couple and their XL in the park recently, their dog was muzzled, well socialised and under complete control. I'd definitely question their decision to buy the dog but you couldn't describe them as being simple and they didn't match the stereotype you'd imagine.

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe the breed has a place in our country and I completely support all dogs being nurtured and the breed allowed to die out but I don't subscribe to the theory that there are no responsible owners out there.
