Do you not think? All the OBR estimates (for what they're worth, they seem to change daily) are pointing in the right direction:.

GOING in the right direction at the moment, till this bunch of politicians get voted out (next year), and then the new politicians will reverse it, they have to, it is what they have promised to do by virtue of theit policies, that's what they do.

I suppose, being childless and on a relatively low income at the mo, i'm never hit too hard regardless of the budget.

All I look out for is the Income tax threshold and, again, am very happy with that.

No complaints here.

Help to Buy Extension for 5 years....

Crazy short term economics and turned the government into a massive mortgage broker. Just let the housing market correct so people can afford homes.

As for the debt, Labour created more debt than all previous governments put together, the Coalition have somehow repeated the feat. Pray for high inflation its probably the only way out

They did more than creating a debt, there record on controlling immigration properly was an absolute joke.

Ed Milliband is truly dreadful isn't he. Had no points of substance to make at all, just snipes over the fact that the conservatives are rich and went to Eton. Pathetic.

I would advise all those people in reasonably paid jobs work your nuts off to keep it, not to overextend on their mortgage, and put as much in to your pension as you can. Because when you are older, and your job disappears and you are left with minimum wage jobs and failing health it will not be a pleasant world.

Thats the only response they can give now that the budget really wasnt that bad - child like really. Bet the tories wish their was an election next week as after today, they wont do that badly. Labour have nothing to slag off today.

Bingo tax has been reduced too - old women will be delighted !!

Excellent, I can now invest £15 K in my ISA annually , only one small problem.

You wait tax free pension contributions will go soon. The government need income tax paid now not in 30 years...

How about the corporations and rich elite? They're the guys with all the money, this budget is just distracting everyone from the fact that the government no intention from getting money from those who have disproportionate amounts of it.

This is all just smoke and mirrors, people naturally think "how does this budget effect me?" rather than seeing the bigger picture. This will win them lots of votes and the ever increasing problem of social and economic inequality will continue to escalate.
yawn !

It's a scary thought but your right. Increase in population and less money for the NHS, it's a disaster waiting to happen isn't it.

1. Yes I'm in a reasonably paid Job (well 2 jobs actually) and I do work hard at both - why wouldn't you want to work hard?
2. We were sensible enough not to believe the snake oil salesmen and only got a mortgage as big as we needed (and we are overpaying it now)
3. Yes I am putting a lot into my pension pot because when our mortgage is paid off early (see 2) I can wind down and pretty well retire before
I'm 60. Although I enjoy what I do (see 1) and will probably do some Consultancy or University Lecturing until I'm wheeled off!

I don't understand why you regard any of these are exceptional or unusual views to take?

So who the bloody hell is going to vote for Labour next year then, after the 13 years of recklessness we went through last time?.........

Fairly uneventful budget which will barely affect me.

The deficit gone by 2018 is never going to happen though - they've barely made a dent in it after 4 years in charge. Besides, I don't really see it as that much of a problem and certainly not one that should be resolved ahead of basic social services and infrastructural maintenance.

I'm not going to listen to Milliband's response. It would be too depressing as his gimps are no better than the Tories.
