Put in a good shift as opposed to Spanish Dave who looked out of sorts however he was a slow burner last season and then look what happened.

Again spot on! Lopez is very poor at the moment and surely would not be selected if Orlandi was fit.

To be fair to Lua Lua I'm not sure that he had much in terms of service. There were no diagonal balls for him to run on to, more usually the ball was moved from right to left across the defence then passed to Lua Lua, by which time he was being marked and not able to go very far.

On the plus side, I think that Lua Lua passed more this game than he managed all of last season.

Surely a wingers job is to provide service. He's good at beating his man, it's what he's all about. I thought he was poor. Buckley on the other hand was terrific, especially when you consider he was on the left for over an hour.

Today we saw the good Buckley, but the bad LuaLua.

think LuaLua was trying to hard, clearly wants to start so when he comes on he tries extra hard to be noticed which is why we get the long shots when off balance and the running all over the place. When he just plays his natural game he is much better

He was much better today - however he always gives the impression of being knackered. He is often hunched over with hands on knees and puffing and blowing - but he has always done that. Great cross for the second.

kaz spent much of his time playing centrally and thought he looked pretty tidy there. would like to see him have more time in that position - could be deadly... flick/past man/shoot/flipflackflop

In the second half he was often on his own on the wing waiting for a pass. Greer particularly played it to the left wing when Buckley was in a much better position. Buckley's cross for the second goal was sublime as was the header.

There was a moment in 2nd half where Buckley & Lua Lua were both stuck in the middle whilst Ulloa had pulled wide to pick up the ball. Don't get me wrong I thought we had a decent display today but I do think we could have made more down the wings with Burnley down to 10.

I noticed that too, it was almost like Greer was refusing to pass the ball to him. Often it was the easier and more logical ball too. Buckley was normally unmarked in acres of space and close to the touchline when this happened, surely this is exactly the right moment to give him the ball? Strange IMO.

It was good to see him getting a good runout today. I rejoice when i see him attempt one of his out-of-this-world dink-n-sprint routines and early on today it seemed a symbol he was fully up for it. I hope he stays fit and in form. His passing is excellent and that comes in the form of flicks, lay-offs, throughballs and crosses.
A real talent and works best, it seems, when he has the artful bollocks-to-defending madcappery of Bruno is up to his hijinx behind him.
