The sums are starting to add up , with CMS , Bridcutt and Buckley sold Gus will have cash to splash.

ok, answers on a postcard please:

if we sold Bridcutt, CMS and Buckley, what would we have to sell for to be able to afford players of better quality than those 3, assuming we have to stick to a tight budget???? one in one out etc....

say we get 9 million for all 3, would we be able replace them for similar quality or better, for less/same amount??? Would we need to replace all 3, or perhaps just 2.... ????

Sell Buckley for £4m and get Bennett back for half that. He's started 3 games so far this season. Use the surplus £2m to add to a striker fund.

What will we do though? Probably sell him for £2m, buy a poor replacement, and another mediocre striker.

Yet you think Puncheon is average :clap2:

I said 'nothing special'. By Premier League standards, I think you'd find it hard to argue that Jason Puncheon is in any way 'special'. He's pretty direct, and has good pace. His delivery is average, and his shooting mostly wayward. Carry on.

Yes thats the same conundrum going around in my head (apart from a slight hangover too, which doesn't help) - if we sell those 3 for decent fees then surely to get the same or better replacements we will have to spend even more. Plus we would not have increased the number of quality players in the squad, which for me is the greater priority. So I am hoping we already have a bit more cash in hand to add to the transfer budget?

Much as I wouldn't want to lose Buckley,if the sums added up that wouldn't be the worst thing in the history of the world.

Fingers crossed we tell SCC to get stuffed though.

AM I right in thinking that Bidders is out of contract at the end os the season?

If thats correct then if somebody wants him we won't get much. If he's already indicated to Gus that he may not sign a new contract Gus may want to get rid of him in January to at least get something for him.

As far as Buckley is concerned, we would need a decent replacement and if there was one out there surely the interested club would have gone for him. All very well getting shed loads of money for a player but what good is it if there's nobody to spend it on!

P.S. Hope the curry was better than the game!!!

Depends dunnit.

If funds are tight after the amount of signings this summer, then it doesn't look like such a bad scenario if it adds to the much needed striker fund. If we are doing alright and have a fair bit to spend, then I'd say keep him and turn down any bids until august.

if cms, buckley and bridcutt all go - then I would think carefully before renewing my season tick next
year....irrespective of who we realistically bring in. Simple as that.

Unbelievable, I thought you supported Brighton, not those 3 players.....

Bridcutt brings the most entertainment to my watching. It's amazing how a CDM can be so exciting to watch, I'd be pissed if he left for anything less than 7m.
