Atmosphere had been rubbish for a while which is a shame as it was good when the season started.

This would be a great time to reorganise the North and put Safe Standing in but it'll never happen unless PB can find a way to monetise it.

:lolol:

I was an underage drinker, but not that young (see recent drinking thread), just 14 at SJP in May 79.

Probably high as a kite at the Goldstone on those radioactive boiled tinned burgers. Hygienically served next to the open air p@ss latrines.

The smell of victory

Did that happen against Villa as well?

I entered the NS at 3pm after using park n ride, at the same time as Albion hordes rushed from the train station.

Don’t know as arrived earlier but Southern were only running single rather than double length units so it took ages to get fans up from Brighton (and presumably from Lewes)

A thread about atmosphere started by someone who wasn’t there.

The ghost of Mustafa lives on

I am repeating what BT said.

I know one thing if I was, I would be coming home with a 3 day sore throat, because I am an atmosphere machine.

The North Stand do little to get the stadium going because they aren’t allowed to organise. Dare I say that it doesn’t meet the family values of the club. Everyone is nannyed into silence.

However, the police box crew do have to take a look at themselves and ask what they are doing to get the whole crowd going rather than acting like a clique. They’ll love that criticism.

Atmosphere has been poor since the championship. I personally find it improves when we have something at stake or up against it. For example, chasing promotion after coming so close, losing at home to Burnley (9 men), Sheffield weds at home in the play offs etc etc.
Now, for many, we are in a privileged position not really toying relegation but realistically not pushing European football so most home games are take it or leave it. OR 5pm K.O and a load of booze can help but equally if we concede early its suddenly as above. Added to this, if you want drink at half time without queuing for 15 minutes you need to go at 40 minutes, probably still miss the team coming back out.

I’m excluding the Brentford game from this, because the PL made it impossible for me to attend that match like many other fans..
So From 28 August onwards…. I’ve seen 11 PL games at the Amex..

Brighton have scored 6 goals in those 11 games! Conceded 16!

Won 1 Drawn 5 and lost 5…. I’ve not seen us win a PL game at the Amex for 6 months now!!

Very difficult to get excited and up for watching a team that is averaging 0.5 goals per game and 0.45 points per game over this period, with all of the Corporate bollox and spill that’s thrown our way, need a history lesson, should be grateful for what we’ve got blah blah blah… I just want to watch a competitive team that wins some games and scores some bloody goals…

Fed up with being told that I should be singing my heart out and supporting the boys every other week no matter what’s being served up… if the team gives me something to get behind then I’ll be there…:albion2:
Spot on mate, 6 months since a home win, I've only missed the Brentford game. The fans try, but God its a struggle

At least we saw a few wins and goals to compensate !!

Shhh, it's only the Amex that has issues with atmosphere; all other grounds are a cauldron of noise

Quite.

Not sure many of the posters on here have been to away games, you know those cauldrons of atmosphere like

White Hart Lane
The Emirates
Old Trafford

Oh…….

Quite. Even Anfield is often very quiet. Didn't see the game there the other day but was listening to the radio the next morning and they were blaming the lack of atmosphere on the fact that the Liverpool fans were too confident they'd already qualified so not as up for it. It was knockout stage champions league game v Inter!

To be honest, I thought our atmosphere was summed up quite nicely at the station- the Liverpool fans singing some long ditty about Luis Diaz, to which our lot responded with that frankly horrendous song about Bloom driving to Europe in a Skoda.

Did that happen against Villa as well?

I entered the NS at 3pm after using park n ride, at the same time as Albion hordes rushed from the train station.

Rail replacement buses from Three Bridges stuck in traffic, trains cancelled and delayed from Brighton and one broke down at Falmer with two trains stuck behind it.
