A thread about atmosphere started by someone who wasn’t there.

The atmosphere in the TV box was crap I couldn't hear any noise from them. Poor.

It didn't help that there was probably more Liverpool fans than Brighton fans in there today. Other than the old guy in front of me, the bloke next to me and the miserable prick to my right who looks at me in disgust every time I swear or show a bit of passion, I didn't recognise anyone around me today.
Pretty sure the two in front of me were Liverpool fans, as were the 4 lads to the right, empty seats behind too.
Never hear a peep out of the east stand, north was particularly quiet today. But then the amount of morons smoking weed outside before and after the game may have something to do with the chilled out atmosphere. Crisp sales are probably booming though.

The vast majority of the game we were poor, it’s pointless talking about atmosphere when the team aren’t doing anything to lift the crowd with a bit of real fight

Banging on about the atmosphere again.

'Like a church', quoted from Steve Mc tosser.

Where are our fecking clackers?

Ah yes the good old clackers , remember them being rolled out for the Palace play off game you just knew that was the end of Fan participation at the Amex

Throw in a few lame renditions of Allllllllbion Albion and that's about it ,time to have a look at the customers the club have acquired over the years, RIP modern day stage managed commercialised football

I'd suggest that if you are sitting at home thinking the atmosphere is poor on the TV or Radio, you ask them to move their microphones or turn your radio/TV up, rather than sitting there moaning about it

There is of course another alternative

Thought the atmosphere was fairly good considering the run we're on and pretty clear Liverpool didn’t need to get out of 2nd gear.

Agreed. Fans need to be inspired by the players at home, it seems which is currently not happening so no atmosphere.

Yes the same players who are being paid extortionate wages to under perform in front of the customers, time for a money back policy on the ST

One thing I will say is if anywhere else was like me at the north end of WSL where the guy one side of me had a thick Scouse accent and just about stopped himself celebrating the goals and the guy the other side taking photos of every Liverpool player that appeared in front of us (neither of whom had been there for the Villa or Burnley games, weirdly) then it's hardly a surprise the atmosphere wasn't great.

and the atmosphere was shite at those games too. Despite no covert Villa or Burnley attendees.

My instinct is that this is a long term Amex/Albion thing.

The exception, January against CP was fantastic. Guessing that every raucous CP hater turned up, smashed.

It’s been brought up countless times but what’s the answer, realistic suggestions please?

I said yesterday we need a wholesale change to the pre game build up, more up tempo as I can’t get inspired by “put your hands up for Brighton”

Are we simply too polite in Sussex and afraid to shout or sing just in case someone thinks less of us?

My response to what I thought of Mike Dean was met with a few tuts today in WSU. Only the Liverpool fan in my row was bold enough to say I had a point.

Blame the club for attracting the type of customer it wants in the ground ,the more of these types there are the worse it will get it's almost gone along the lines of Tennis fans now

at home
Clackers and a drum

And the players showing some passion and when 2-0 down, abandon plan A ****ing about at the back and run at players.

Our midfield is so one dimentional( ie backwards ) that it stifles any attempt at an atmosphere!

Move away fans to SW corner.

Stop the American style razzamatazz.

Don’t sell excellent first teamers in January.

Potter or the next manager to shore up the defence, and play counter attacking football. The Board to back that with pace and more pace. (Not just mid or slow paced midfield technicians).

There were a group of Villa in WSL north end actually (W1I) - got hooked out after someone complained.

Atmosphere isn’t going to improve at home until we start playing better and scoring occasionally, simple. Real pity as we’re great away from home, even when not winning.

I don't know how this has happened because the atmosphere was always so good in the 60s, 70s, 80s etc regardless of whether we were on a winning run or (more often) a losing one :lolol:
