Blew Sky and ITV out of the water again with a £1.2bn deal.

Bit of a nuisance as I'm not ditching Sky, and I'm not paying for another subscription so that's Europe pretty much off my radar again (other than if I go down the pub for the odd game). Surprised these rights don't get SPLIT between broadcasters, not even highlights. But there you go.

Don't pay for premium sports channels - stuff 'em. If there's a match I really want to see (like if Brighton ever get involved) I'll go to the pub. Sooner put a few quid in the publican's pocket than Sky or BT.

Not that bothered myself as its a pretty meaningless tournament until it gets to the knockout stage, not usually any real surprises in the group stage. It's ok if you want to see Real/Barca/ PSG putting six past a Romanian factory team.

Aah yes Jezza the communist where everything is free. Err except that he bankrupts the country as well. Horrible man .

a, Corbyn is a Democratic Socialist, b, I don't think "Everything Free " is in the manifesto, c, the country's debt has increased while under the Tory policy of austerity, d, I'd rather be sat on a train with Corbyn than stuck next to a lying fantasist who isn't sure how many kids he has.

Agreed, the group stage is a snooze. Even though there have been some cracking games in the groups this season going by the scorelines, over the course of 6 games the elite teams will nearly always progress (which is exactly what it is designed to enable). They've removed a lot of the jeopardy to give the usual suspects every chance of of progressing.

The knockouts is where its at, but I missed several astonishing games last season because I couldn't be arsed to go out. Ah well.

I’ll carry on paying a large wedge to both BT and Sky, as we like access to their PL and CL matches.

We did have a break for several years from both, to save money/we weren’t watching matches, but got our mojo back with the Albion in the PL and with english clubs doing well in the CL again.

Can’t be arsed with boxes that bypass the protected rights or with streaming.

I've got BT, and a generous brother who buys me Now TV per season. I think i have to increase my Meade Jr bombardment of matches, and a few Albion chants. At present he likes to parade around the front room with an Albion flag, shouting Sieg Horst - his current pronunciation of seagulls.
Anywho, i am glad when Sky don't get deals.

The BT show with James Richardson is FANTASTIC. They have all the games playing in little screens and then go to each game for any goals, pens, cards or controversial events. Really good product IMHO, a bit like Jeff and the boys but with the actual footage rather than just explaining it.

Is it the case get free BT Sport if you have BT Broadband ?

I don't think it's free, but I don't think it costs very much extra. I should probably check as I don't watch it very often at all.

We do have BT Sport, but have never had Sky.

I like James Richardson, I'd be all over that with my midweek accas. But its a subscription too far.

Plenty of ways to watch televised football for free online if you spend a few minutes looking into how to.
