The prosperity he gave the country was built on borrowing and now we are all paying the price. John Major has to take some of the credit for bringing peace to Northern Ireland plus we must not forget that the attack on the Twin Towers also stopped American funding for the IRA.

To be fair it was a global financial crisis - not entirely the fault of Gordon Brown, (but that's another debate) and I take your point about Major. He doesn't get the credit he deserves over NI.
