It was blue. Recall you had a beard/goaty and think you were with a lady? If it was you, you arent old enough to be Dick Knight's Mumm (unless that's his champagne vintage!).

My only advice re marathon training is little and often, with 4 or 5 18-20 milers in the 6 weeks before the big one.

My first 10k too. Did it in 51 mins. Quite pleased with that but the half marathon and marathon seem even more daunting now.

That's a good first 10k time and a good base to build from. Did my first 10k 2.5 years ago in that time, and did my first marathon (New Forest) this September in 3'49.

Putting your time into one of the running website's race time predictor and you should get close to 4 hours, as long as you put the training in.

Thanks to all who replied to my thread. I really enjoyed today. For various reasons , this was my first serious race for 8 years. Clocked 42.41. Well chuffed.
