I enjoy a varied musical taste, from Metallica to Rat pack. I read the thread about Guns and Roses and peoples view that Appetite for Destruction is one of the best ever albums. This lead me to think what other albums people class as best ever.

So i have a new game to play. List three albums you believe to be the one of the best ever and other people can listen to them and then post a reply here as to what they thought. Gives me a chance to hopefully listen to some new stuff too.

So my three are:

Master of Puppets by Metallica
Legend by Bob Marley
The strength/the sound/the songs by Volbeat

In terms of broadening your music collection, if you're a fan of Bob I suggest you might want to check out Damian Marley & Nas - Distant Relatives. One of my fav albums of last decade and nice mixture of genres. And Stephen Marley's Mind Control is also a quality listen.


I simply wouldn't know where to start with a top 3. Too many genres, too many influences.
Three albums that I still hold in highest esteem after many years and many listens are:

A Kind Of Blue - Miles Davis
Dimanche A Bamako - Mariam and Amadou

would be a good introduction to classical, jazz and African respectively.

Exile on Main Street really is a stand-out album, and might just make my top three
Radiohead would make my top three bands, but probably not top three artists (which includes solo artists), although I'm really not sure I could identify a favourite album
