Broadening my music tastes

I enjoy a varied musical taste, from Metallica to Rat pack. I read the thread about Guns and Roses and peoples view that Appetite for Destruction is one of the best ever albums. This lead me to think what other albums people class as best ever.

So i have a new game to play. List three albums you believe to be the one of the best ever and other people can listen to them and then post a reply here as to what they thought. Gives me a chance to hopefully listen to some new stuff too.

So my three are:

Master of Puppets by Metallica
Legend by Bob Marley
The strength/the sound/the songs by Volbeat

(What's The Story) Morning Glory- Oasis
Antidotes- Foals

My opinion, don't expect many people to agree with me.

Worthing
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
Doolittle -OR- Surfer Rosa/Come on Pilgrim (depending on preference) - Pixies
Revolver - Beatles

No shocks or surprises, but if I had to listen to three albums for the rest of my days it'd probably be those three. Covers most bases.

I don't expect anyone to agree with mine but I've gone for 3 albums that once I start I have to listen to the end ...

Tubeway Army- Replicas
Sisters of Mercy - A Slight Case of Overbombing
Craig Armstrong - The Space Between Us

Hope someone enjoys them!

Oh bloody hell. Someone asked me my favorite gig at the weekend as well. I bought London Calling on vinyl* yesterday though; now that will be somewhere near the top.

*-still don't have a record player though.

Impossible to pick 3 favourite albums, so I'll go for top 3 listened to according to my iPod/iTunes which I guess by default must mean they're close to my favourites!

Is This Wembley - Ben Waters
Classic Rock - Joe Bonamassa
Lift The Lid - Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra

Here's my three. Very hard to choose to be honest. But my first choice is definately right up there as one of the all time greats in my opinion.

Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
The Wedding Album - Duran Duran
We Can't Dance - Genesis

Can't do a definitive top three as they change all the time:

'Joe's Garage' - Frank Zappa
'Alice' - Tom Waits
'Wish You Were Here' - Pink Floyd

Good to see 'Nonsuch' get a mention from Goldstone Rapper although I probably would have picked 'Skylarking' :D
