British Sport

As we relish the prospect of next season I was reflecting on the generally improved status of British Sport with the Olympics just round the corner. Team GB has been set a medal target, which, if reached, will be the best since 1908 when the world was a lot less competitive. We have an English cricket team who seem to be dominating all forms of the game. A British tennis player in the mens final at Wimbledon for the first time since 1938 and a British man winning the mens doubles for the first time in a similar period. Two of the top F1 drivers in the world. The number 1 golfer in the world with a number of others not far behind. I am sure there are many other examples I haven't included.

Are we living in a golden era for British sport ?

Needs Donald or Westwood to win a major and Andy to win today

No English player has won a golf major since Nick Faldo
