The algorithm works fantastically well and provides me with loads of new stuff to listen to, as well as things I know and like but haven't heard in a while.

For you it did but no more so than jazz, blues, swing, big band, rock & roll, Mersey, pop, Mowtown, folk, protest, Brit/psychedelic/prog/blues/stadium rock, soul, R&B, country, reggae/bluebeat/ska, disco/dance, new wave, funk, glam rock, hip-hop, heavy metal, grunge, gangsta rap, to miss out a few! It just depends on your age and perspective.
