so are they all German at the moment?

Like when the new pope won his audition, does he get to pick all his mates on his team.

Yeah, they do a live televised show called The Vatican's Got Talent.

Paul: "I like you, so it's a yes"

Augustine: "You've preached that with so much passion. Yes"

Pontius: "You've touched me, somewhere deep inside. It's a yes from me"

Benedict: "Well Pontius has swung it for me. That's exactly what we're looking for here in the Vatican. One MILLION percent yes!"

Read again please, I said Indian sub continent, thats not just India, it includes Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. Sometimes also includes Afghanistan and Maldives.

The International Monetary fund calls India a LEDC (less economically-developed country), which supposedly means it is in the Third World.

Have you been to LHR recently?

What do you expect in a major international airport arrival lounge, lots of beautiful white people queuing orderly to get their passports stamped - black people are allowed to travel as well.

You post smacks of overt racism.

When was the last time the Vatican's soldiers illegally invaded and occupied a foreign country??

Edit - I am talking about much more recently than the Nazis, btw...

Maybe he was just having a dig at the fact most LHR employees appear to be from the Indian Subcontinent?

Who knows what he was thinking......

Not sure that he was thinking...though he was certainly talking out of his arse.

If he was implying that Heathrow was like the third World because many people who work their are non-caucasian, then that was one hell of an insult...bordering on racism...I for one am glad he isn't coming here.

According to the BBC, the cardinal's comparisons between England and a third world country are based on the "aggressive atheism" that he associates with the third world.

Judging from some of the comments on NSC, he's certainly right about the aggressive atheism. I'm not sure whether it's a third world phenomenon, though.

BBC News - Pope aide pulls out of trip after Third World jibe

So we get that he's racist and intolerant of any religion other than the "true" one but where does he stand on child abuse?

So one of the Pope's staff is a bigot, no great surprise there. However it's not as though Christians are any better, what about that idiot in Florida who wanted to burn the Koran last week ? Of course we also have the likes of Abu Hamza don't we ? I have met more than a few 'Good Christians' who hate Islam although they have a pretty low opinion of the Catholic church as well.

Let's face it, religion is a load of bollocks at the end of the day.

You know Catholics, some believe it but the wiser ones run away from it. I wonder if said Cardinal would be interested to know that the Catholic Church is the main reason why I'm an atheist ? I'm sure I'm not alone there as I formed my opinions at an early age having seen the sheer hypocrisy of so many Catholics. Subsequently I realised this attitude was not confined to one sect of one religion.

Bit of devil's advocate here: there are, according to the last census, approximately 4 million Catholics in the UK, which out of the population of about 60 million, makes it a minority religion by anybody's standards, with absolutely no offence intended to those Catholics on here or anywhere else.

The leader of the Catholic church turns up in the UK and announces his intention to hold masses or whatever and various major public appearances.

So, knowing how very vociferous the likes of the English Defence League are against foreigners- particularly those of a different religious persuasion to the UK majority- coming here to preach their holy messages, I presume they will be holding marches and rallies in protest at the Pope's arrival?

Or do those rules only apply when the protagonists are darker skinned and worship a god called Allah?
