revell and el abd are just donkeys though - hammond actually has talent, you don't win player of the season if you don't - its just that he doesnt seem to be doing it at the moment, and getting the best out of him is something that wilkins needs to consider as a matter of urgency, if for nothing else than that we have f*** all else options

When has Hammond won player of the season? Was it last season?

I have looked and Hammond won it last year. The year he played well. This season it seems like he has reverted to the player he was before he was made captain last season.

We played well yesterday. Our passing, though a little across-the-pitch, was good. Our movement at times was too good for Bristol Rovers. All we lacked was a cutting edge. Forster might have converted the chance that Revell missed in the second half, though he missed a similar chance against Northampton. I don't know how Robinson failed to score when he was one-on-one with the keeper. Has he forgotten where the net is? When Robinson is through on goal these days, I don't bother hoping that he will score. Their keeper played out of his skin. One of his saves in the second half (from a Revell volley, I think) was incredible. The most pleasing aspect of the performance yesterday was the patience shown by the team. They kept probing Rovers' defence. More often than not, a similar approach against stubborn opposition will be successful.
