Bristol City - the worst opposition yet at the Amex?

Barnsley.

Might only be me here, but I thought Barnsley were rather good when they played us.

Like Keith Hill's Rochdale side from last season, they passed the ball about well and had a lot of movement. Their midfield duo of Perkins and Butterfield looked particularly useful - they could have easily been two up before Greer scored and started the second half really well before we hit them on the break for the second. I think we'll do very well to win the return fixture up there.

I don't think Barnsley were the best side that have come to the Amex this season, but they were nowhere near the worst. Bristol City, Coventry, Burnley and West Ham were all sides that were completely devoid of inventiveness (even though the latter two were lucky enough to walk away with the points).

I had this rather stupid idea that all the teams that were in championship could play a bit, and that how we played in a match may reflect slightly on how good or bad they looked

Or is it just conicidence that when we play to our strengths, it is because the other team are shit ???

Most teams we have played at the Amex this season have had at least a period of 15 mins or so where they've controlled the game. Not Bristol City. They were, frankly, rubbish.

Thought their only decent player was bolasie, tons of pace similar to zaha

It's not surprising that he has pace as he is LuaLua's cousin. I thought that BC looked better when he came on and was glad that he hadn't started. I agree with Watford Zero, why do we say the other team is shit because we won easily. Could it possibly be that we played so well that we made them look that way? Of course not, we still have to knock our own team and say we only won because the other team were rubbish.

For all this talk of them being rubbish, it does pose the question... How on earth did they beat Southampton?!

Two attempts on target on the last ten minutes. I thought we were in second gear for most of the game, yet there for the taking in that short period between CMS going off and Calderon scoring. The confidence drained out of the side when CMS and JFC went off but we we ended up comfortable winners. Coventry were poor, but were Brizzle worse?

You obviously did not go to the Burnley game

Did Brizzle look so poor because we played so well?

might be wrong, but are sides with big front men struggling against us? Seems to be the case to me, being as I'm an advocate of us getting a lump up front ourselves......
