Palace made a profit of 1.6 million that season (one of only 4 clubs to do so) so how the rest of your statement is true I dont know, but it looks like those figures hey have been plucked out of thin air. And how you say Admin was round the corner is just utter nonsense.

Anyway back on topic. Gayle is a terrific goal scorer had great at dead ball plays as well, but it is his work off the ball that is lacking and in the prem a team like Palace need all 11 players working hard all the time.

Yawn

They should go after Tom Bradshaw much better value, would say we should look at him but think we have been there before singing a player with one good season behind him.

They should go after Chris O'Grady - proven at this level - and probably avaialble for 2-3m

Their owner/chairman, Steve Lansdown (of Hargreaves Lansdown fame) is a billionaire.

Well that's that then. Expect them to be in the prem sooner or later then.

Fair play to Palace, they always seem to do ok in the transfer market.

Maybe he is but didn`t they have to rein in their spending when they got relegated the last time because they had one of the largest squads/ wage bills in the Championship? Don`t think he has an endless pit which is why they sold Baldock and also had to sign players of Aaron Wilbraham`s pedigree.

Might have missed something but how likely is he join them , didn`t someone suggest they were after Lingard last week ?

Well maybe you should have read the second paragraph before posting !!!

Yeah, presumably the profit came from selling the future of English football to man u, I'm not sure why the Guardian didn't include that as part of your turnover. Regardless, Palace's plan appeared to be to spend beyond their means(again) and hope that player sales would cover the deficit. Seems like a sure fire way of avoiding financial trouble. If you hadn't gone up and continued with that policy sooner rather than later admin 3 would have come knocking. As it is we'll have to wait until you get relegated to enjoy that scenario now.

I dont really understand what your dig is?? ( are not BHA spending aprox £8 million beyond their needs at the moment?) invest in young players and sell for a profit and by doing so make a healthy profit ? isn't that the point of a business. And surely with all the investment Tony has poured into BHA in the last few years he hopes to start seeing a return in his investment by selling young players to try and break even...thats how football works for about 90 out of the 92 football clubs...christ you moan when we lose money and moan when we make money!! (23 million profit last season)

How did a discussion on Dwight Gayle get onto this!!!

Shirley you must know by now that ALL Palace threads end up like this .
TB is pumping in around £1 mill a month to cover losses, with not much family silver left to flog (Dunk?) let's hope the academy starts churning out assets soon .

Amazing what you know about our finances & youth team players. I couldn't tell you who Palace's "assets" are in terms of fringe players.

Now that, I could see Gayle being more interested in. Imagine: a mediocre Championship side having a strike force costing a combined £19 million

(Mind you, £8m is a ludicrous sum for a failed Premier League striker, so realistically, it probably won't be that high, will it?)
