Unfortunately, we get a new home kit every season these days. It is a shame, because I really like our current shirt and would love it to stay another year.

I agree.
I also just wish sport and football in particular would start putting more consideration into the environment rather than £££ for a change and teams would stop releasing an entire range of new kits, training gear etc every effing year.
Anyway, different discussion I guess.

Of course we should but for some reason we (or the manufacturer) just cant get it right especially the back.
I have seen many kits for teams that have stripes in Europe and around the world and they look fantastic and cool.
Never understood why we cant copy them.

Cant be that hard to replicate what Bukta managed in1979 ? With a Nike badge.

I’ve no doubt we will go back to the stripes, but I actually like this year’s kit.

For me, the issue isn't so much the style of the shirt but the choice of brand. Nike are primarily an athletics company and have never 'got' football in the way that Adidas, Puma or Kappa, for example, do.

I wasn't against the concept of a solid blue shirt for this season but then I saw the Nike abomination:

Cheap looking fabric
Half-arsed pin stripes that are neither one thing nor another
Random yellow stripes that just clutter the shirt
That awful floppy collar that looks equally bad done up or unbuttoned, That collar is actually a crime against football kits.

How Nike can get something so simple as a plain blue shirt so stunningly wrong in every detail is quite breathtaking. How I'd love a beautifully executed Adidas shirt, where less is always more.

I agree, Adidas do seem to do the best shirts by a long way.

They can all play naked if they want, as long as the collar goes.

Look - the club have given you their decision on the basement and I don’t think they’re prepared to change their mind.

Don't care as long as the front and back look the same, rather than the patchwork shit Nike keep coming up with.

I'm of a similar vintage to Mr Chairman so like me he will have grown up watching us play in blue and white stripes. I'm therefore quite surprised that he sanctioned such a radical change. I'm a traditionalist. My club plays in blue and white stripes.

Nike do have bizarre form with this, don't they? It's almost like they used the remnants off the floor then quickly stitched on a yellow panel to distract from the fact that the pin stripes, like the M18, seemed like a good idea at the time but ultimately go nowhere very interesting.

But as most people have pointed out, it is the collar that is just unforgivable. It's as if the person designing it was rushed and got the brief mixed up with another for a Crown Green bowls top. Out there somewhere is a bowling club with a great team shirt but find themselves unable to access the members' bar because they don't have a collar..

Love this year's kit. Nicest one since the League One promotion kit.

Contrary to popular opinions, a shirt can't relegate us
