Just because Slade was a nice man and showed his bonce to the goons in H block on demand, doesn't mean he was up to the job.
He worked wonders last season, but he's failed to organise the defence, and hasn't got our midfield, Bennett aside, to do anything at all.
If you gave him until Christmas and he was still making a royal HASH of things then a new man wouldn't be able to address the squad before spending money in January.
As you say, thank him for leaving us with some good recruits - but don't say it's a "disgrace", because spending more money then any albion manager in decades and not getting any improvement out of the team just isn't good enough.
Slade was a nice man but my reasons for him staying because of that are not listed above and will never be as that is ludicrous. Adams was a nice man and so are most football managers but that is never an excuse to keep them.
The midfield has improved. you have mentioned Bennett but Crofts and Dicker have been fantastic however I have to admit a consistent left winger was lacking. Are passing football came from the midfield and I agree the defense was a sham and they made the midfield look bad by bypassing them with hoofs. But the defensive errors were individual mistakes and Slade was about to strengthen with 3 or so players to solve the problem.
Any improvement out of the team? Wrong in my opinion. We are not a long ball Adams team anymore, are set pieces and corners are not as predictable as Omid Djalili and the squad has improved ten fold. Many injuries and red cards prevented us from fielding strong teams and having the options to replace them.
Slade should still be here and this appointment process should be non existent.
