OK everyone I have started a petition at this link. After suggestions by a few users on planetalbion.co.uk.

planetalbion.co.uk will be campaign central for our Bring Back Gully campiagn, if we can get enough signatures then we will pass it on to the insider who will pass it on to the board hopefully. So please sign the petition so we can get our Gully back.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
One of the things that make us distinctive is the fact that we DONT have some twat pratting around, or cheerleaders f***ing about at half time.

If you are prepared to get into the custume and do it for f*** all then yes, its a good idea.

No it was not just me that thought up the petition. I started a poll on Planet Albion and the majority on there said they wanted Gully back. As he would be good entertainment. It was the same thing on the Offical Seagulls messageboard the majority there wanted him back. So its not just me and little kids.

Gully was on the same bus as me going to the march. As was (deduced from an overheard conversation) Ian Hart's young daughter.

It certainly was a star studded bus.

Mascots are shit end of. Do not care if a few people want it back, one of the few good things of Withdean is no crappy pop played when we score and we do not have some prat dressed as a mascot.

100% agree. Perhaps now hunting with dogs is going to be banned all those redundant foxhounds can be used to hunt down and tear to shreds all football mascots. Well it's a thought ......

No, no, no.

I think Uncle Buck has nicely summed up what I would have said on this subject, but I wanted to throw my (not inconsiderable) weight behind the anti-Gully movement.

One of the many great things about supporting the Albion, in my humble opinion, is the lack of a mascot arsing around and generally being embarrasing.

Can someone start a petition against having a mascot

The only point of mascotts is for away fans to take the piss out of them (what the f*cking hell is that).
Seem to remember Lee Steele tripping up the Swindon mascot a couple of seasons back.

mascots are stupid - we used to have this giant shark thing at our local rugby league matches - I arrived at the turnstiles just as it had come out the front to "greet" people (and scare small children)... unfortunately a local was walking his dog past the entrance to the stadium at the same time - the dog (a german shepherd) attacked the shark in front of loads of away fans who took the piss for ever more!! The shark was ok - just had no tail or dorsal fin left to speak of...

Why not go the whole hog and petition for crap music to be played after a goal as well so the mascot can do a silly dance.

(I'm being sarcastic BTW)

A mascot would be good.

At least that way Paul Watson can earn his money.

A mascot would be great. Gully would be great entertainment for all ages, especially the younger children. I'm glad me and Strike started this campaign, even if it isn't proving too popular. Maybe not now, but certainly when we are at Falmer we should have a mascot!

I think this thread has conclusively proved it would NOT be 'great entertainment for all ages'. If you think a bloke dressed up as a giant seagull is 'great entertainment' you ought to get out more.
