Great post Freddie. That was my memory as well. We arrived early as usual in the North Stand thinking "blimey there is a lot of people here" - when we realised they were all Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic fans.

Football was exciting when we were 14 - and I am not talking about on the pitch.

It is way up there as one of my best games ever.

The north was like a sweat box with loads of surges and things flying through the air. It really was electric.

we must've been in London visiting family for christmas I think - certainly have no recollection of the home game and clearly missed something special. Must have known about the aggro but now I guess I realise why we got a pasting from their fans in the return fixture. It was all so much simpler then but maybe the hoops we have to jump through nowadays have some benefits - I haven't seen a punch thrown (off the pitch) for years.
