Don't want him cup-tied though, may reduce buyers.

It wouldn't. A decision on a player would not rest on a prospective cup run.

No excuse not to go for this, so hopefully we don't just put out eleven reserves. I think Dunk will start, and Maupay unless Welbeck or Connolly are back. I've assumed Bernardo is off.

Walton or Steele
Yapi - Veltman - Dunk - Burn - March
Alzate - Propper - Sanders
Maupay - Zeqiri

Bench of the other keeper, White, Bissouma, Tau, Jahanbakhsh, Moder, Khadra, Jenks, Weir.

Well even with Potter's enigmatic approach to team selection, I'm pretty confident that it will be Jason Steele in goal.
Think he probably earnt the shirt for this cup run, last time out.

I'd like to see:

Steele

Yapi - Veltman Dunk Burn - Bernardo

Propper - Moder
AJ
Tau Zeqiri

I suspect Bernardo won't be the only player leaving us in this window which is only open for a couple more weeks.
The club do things very privately, I wouldn't be surprised if we got an announcement out of the blue that AJ is on his way.

We have a very deep squad and it will be quite an achievement (and expensive) to carry them all.

Steele
Yapi - Veltman - Webster - Dendonker - Burn
Moder - Propper - Ali J
Tau - Zequiri

Looking at both our team selection and other Premier sides in the 3rd Round I can see us going fairly strong.

With Potter's rotation you can never tell but Propper and Bissouma didn't start at Leeds so I would throw them in and Alzate needs a run out as does Zeqiri. If the Polish lads are available it's a good opportunity to play at The Amex.

I think two things count against this.

A six pointer against Fulham on the Wednesday after and that we likely have a game against Leicester if we make the 5th round means that getting to the quarter finals will be very tough

Is there any chance of seeing Lamptey get some time on the pitch with a view for playing some part in the Fulham game?

I’d play the CBs who feel the most ‘up for it’ and who are feeling fitter. If any feel they need a rest then do that, but I’ve picked my team assuming these players are happy to play 2 games in a week. Bissouma has just returned from a rest and needs a bit of time, he can be subbed off early if the game is under control.

.....................Walton
Veltman - Dunk - Burn - Karbownik
......Gross - Bissouma - Moder
........Zeqiri ... Tau ... Ali J

Steel, White, March, Alzate, Propper, Maupay & 3 u23’s
