Its quite normal. Generally speaking, players considered good enough to play regularly in EFL are loaned out. Most will struggle anyway.

Well, don't hold your breath. The academy teams are sometimes competitive against League Two teams, but gets destroyed by League One teams.... if our boys played Birmingham in the cup final in a month... losing 5-0 would be a very good result. From the little I've seen of the academy this season, not a single one would currently make it in League One.

More likely to win the Premier League than to ever win this cup.

Statistically, that is probably not true.

There is probably a greater chance of us dropping two divisions, and winning this as a L1 team, than of us winning the PL

Don't know if you are joking, but this one is Samy, this is his third start for the U-21s in the last 4 games (and yes, he is still on loan).

Well, he managed the full match against Citeh without any trouble (OK he stayed on the bench, but fair play!)
