It would be great yes.

However it is events on the pitch that create an atmosphere. As yesterday proves.

It was a fantastic atmosphere yesterday & I loved it. Don't want to sound negative but do you think there was so much clapping due to it being cold? I can only base it on the fact that the people near me normally don't clap or make a noise & yesterday they were going for it when the temrature dropped after half time..

The sarcastic clapping was due to the refereeing performance, I think.
Agreed though, going down to nine men helped the atmosphere some what, but even so, it just goes to prove we can create a great atmosphere no matter what!!

Don't get me wrong, the fans were awaesome & I'm certainly not the type to come on here & start a stir. I guess I was just kind of trying to point out thet its not the first time people have been known to clap to keep warm.

Dougal - dont let "return of the Rev" see that your praising the fans. He will probably abuse you for it.

It took those below us in the 1901 club ages to get started but once they felt that they had to join in, eventually did. Well done to them!! One gets the impression that some might feel that if one pays a good deal more than us minions, one can just sit there without uttering a word of encouragement to our brave warriors as they battled against the elements of The worst ref since Mr Prosser plus a team of Whippet and Pigeon fanciers that one might suggest paid for the ref's Christmas shopping. The expression "Too posh to push" springs to mind!!!!. I expect everyone else to follow the example of those in The North stand and West stand upper and get behind the team from the word go.

Unfortunately, this.
The great escape song will undoubtedly become a key atmosphere generating song
We're not going to be singing the great escape when we're 1 nil up after 10 minutes. If we go 1 up, and then sit back and try to defend it for 80 minutes (eg vs palace) the atmosphere will be bad. It's difficult to put the effort into singing on the occasions when your team is overly negative.

Great support for the team yesterday i was chuffed with the way the fans responded. people saying events on the pitch generate atmosphere are right but should
remember you could easily be saying 'well with 2 men sent off there was no point singing/staying' if people had responded differently. We were a credit to the club yesterday.

Also it didn't seem like many left before the end, not like the exodus v Forest.
