Brighton Super Sub?

Saw the watford scorer referred to as a super sub this week. Got me thinking back to the Goldstone and am sure we had are own super sub at one stage? About the time that liverpool had ginger haired David Fairclough.
unfortunately in my old age can't remember his name. so does anyopne else remember such a player and his name. otr have i completely lost the plot?

think it was eric Potts but when I checked on a footie stats site saw in only scored 4 goals one season. but must be him
those of course were th edays of true football lol when you were only allowed one sub.

Yes the little ginger haired sub of the 70's was Eric Potts came from Wednesday I think.

Definitely Eric Potts - he came on and scored 2 late goals aganst Sunderland in '78 to nick a 2-1 victory.

Youre right. Think that was the game why he got called supersub. And as someone said he did have ginger hair. Know that we have had some good comebacks over the years. including an away game against west brom around about the time. but that game against sunderland was a bit special.
