The Albert, one of the pre-tournament favourites, is easily through as group winner whilst the Ancient Mariner has narrowly edged out the Prince George to go through as runner up

The best pub has deservedly won this group. For live music it is one of the few decent pub venues in town.

Had to be the Prince Albert in this one. Great live music venue. Of the others, the Montreal Arms is about the only pub in the Hanover and Tarner area I've never been in, The Ancient Mariner is also in an area I've never really ventured into, I've always found The George to be a tad pretentious and Freemasons is one of my least favourite pubs in Hove.

Hmmmm interesting. United Ales & Stout, on the facade of the Montreal Arms. Now l wonder who they were? Any ideas anyone?

Yeah l noticed that on your group C poll. United Ales & Stout were brewers based in Southsea apparantly. Long gone though l assume.

Prince of Wales in Newhaven has the same United Ales facade.
