Whats happened to the website...is it down for good

It's working ok for me, try the link at the top of this thread - are you using the old URL, the site was changed to a new host a few weeks ago?

Hi Guys,

The site hasn't gone down for good, but there will be some changes. This is all down to f**k*ng w**k*rs at the Football Data Co Ltd. (The people who licence the fixture lists).

They want c£12k off me to use the fixture lists for 1 f**k*ng season.....no chance.

The site is still up and running, but if you just visit the site directly, i.e. just type http://football-prediction-league.byethost7.com then you will see a message about the site closing.

The biggest change(s) will be a disclaimer at the bottom of every page saying that the teams/fixtures etc... are all fictitious and any likeness to real life is totally co-incidental, and the other change will be the team names will all have spelling errors in them. You may need to think about the teams for like 0.1 seconds before you realise who they are :lolol:

Hope this explains it. Any questions, post them back here!!!

It's now Friday, the eve of the last match of the season, and the prediction league's not been updated with last week's results. What's going on?

(...and Drumstick, you're still third!)

Congratulations to the top 3 in this season's prediction league.

Winner: Redhead 35pts
Runner Up: Le Premier Cru 34pts
Third: support 33pts

You are all now forever etched in to the Prediction League Hall of Fame. It was a very very close finish in the end with only 2pts covering the top 3 places. Lets hope the Albion can push for promotion next season, and get back in the Championship.

The Brighton league will be run again next season (subject to a suitable participation level). As soon as the fixture list is published, the league will be set up, and open to newcomers. So don't forget to bookmark the page (http://football-prediction-league.byethost7.com), although i will post again on here as well when it ready.

Hope you all enjoyed the Prediction League this season, and i look forward to seeing you next season. (may even be able to persuade someone to donate a prize of some sort!!!)

My rose-tinted glasses meant I finished in 33rd position, rather embarrasingly only a few points ahead of those that only predicted a few times whilst I predicted every match. One of these days I'll become a realist and predict we'll lose
