I’m surprised the poll currently shows more fans from outside Brighton and hove - but living in Sussex . Maybe cos Sussex is actually a large area and living in Brighton and hove is generally more expensive - I’m not sure .

I’m from New York originally but have lived here for a long time .

The population of Brighton'ove is about 300,000.

The population of Sussex is about 1,600,000.

Born in Bradford, spent my early teens between Bradford and Knutsford, moved to GOSBTS (Eastbourne) in 1989 for work, got moved to Tunbridge Wells, then East Grinstead, then left the company aged 20 to come back to Eastbourne and start my own business. That was 30 years ago, and I'm still happily living in Eastbourne.

My Daughter was born in Brighton though, so I claim the opposite of what the footballers do when they're choosing which country to play for.

I knew the population of Sussex was big but I didn’t realise how big compared to Brighton and Hove . Woh . I guess Brighton is the only city in Sussex .

Oh, you've done it now - there'll be riots in the streets of Chichester...

Not many of us mate :)

You said you were born near the station. That isn't Royal Sussex. That's the long-gone Buckingham Road maternity hospital, where I was born.

I see people have been elaborating on where they have lived.....

Born in Brighton (as noted previously)
Rottingdean age 0-5
Portslade 5-18
Portslade/London (Clapham,Fulham) 18-21 (university years)
Brighton 21
Crawley 21-22
London (Edgware) 22-24
Vancouver (Canada) 24-28
London (Brixton) 28-31
Faversham (Kent) 31-62 (now)

So I lived in Brighton itself for less than one year. Poor effort, eh? ???

Resident of West Sussex as a yoof, Brighton, then Hove, as a young man with aspirations. Followed by Portsmouth  for a few months. Job promotion took me up to “the smoke” for a bit and finally down to Mrs.Punal’s home town.

Only ONE club has had my support in that time. Give us a “B” - “B”!! . . . :albion2:

Ah confused.com

Misread the thread title, l clicked on where l live now, rather than where l was brought up. Spent the first twenty years of my life in Staines, (not poncy Staines-upon-Thames as it's now called), in Middlesex.

Born and brought up in Preston Park, but lived in Patcham since 1990. I wouldn't move any further away though. I get a nosebleed just going to Asda at Hollingbury.
