The very fact I was in a lot of pain and had to hobble around a large proportion of the course yet still loved every minute of it suggests I might.

Maybe I'll do more training, eat less shit and lay of the juice next year though!

did anyone else see the poor sod in a Spurs shirt I think it was, who's area around the nipples was covered in blood!!!

Poor sod. I know from playing cricket in a shirt with badges on it that even catching your nips can be bloody painful if sweating at the same time.

Yes I passed him near Shoreham power station

Yes we were sat on the side of the road by the water station/ St Johns at 20 miles ( Blue somethingorother pub just down the road) I felt really sorry for people staggering up to that point and then having to go all the way out to the Power Station.....we dont even cycle down that road as its so depressing!!!

Not sure if it was the same bloke, but I followed someone in a white shirt near the start who had a blood stain in the middle of his back. When I saw him later, the whole of the back of his shirt had a pink tinge to it.

For me, I'm left frustrated with a chip time of 6 hours 1 minute and 55 seconds. I was going well for the first half (despite Fourteenth Eye's heckling!), but soon after developed bad blisters on my balls (of my feet), which meant that I walked most of the course from 15 miles. Managed to run the finish, though, despite the pain in my feet (and hips by then). The most irritating bit was that I'm sure I had loads more running in me had I been able to put up with the pain in my feet. Perhaps I've just gone too soft (my feet certainly have).

It was a brilliant event, though, and I'm still not certain I'd never do it again, but will probably keep up the running now. Considering that when I entered I couldn't even walk properly, I consider it an achievement (and testament to the surgeon who fixed my knee) that I got my medal at all. For a non-runner, I started my training far too late in reality.

Thanks to anyone who cheered me on at all, though. It really was incredible being cheered whilst walking through the city centre! Who was it that mentioned the Kuipers photo to me down Church Street? Gave me a bit of a boost for a while!!

I would do one again. Thinking of putting myself in for an October marathon.

My plan is for an October marathon in 18 months time. Training through summer will be much easier - lighter mornings & evenings, healthier food, and the chances of catching a bug during training is massively reduced.

Dam is a f***ing great idea. Cheap to get to and flat as your mum. Awesome.
