Excellent effort to all concerned. We sat by the water stop at 20 miles for an hours and a half and my hands are sore with clapping!!

What and incredible inspiration to all of us watching. I couldnt believe the amount of people from The Rocking Horse appeal and those running for cancer charities with names of people on their backs who they were running for or remembering....and the Help for Hero's people.

Saw andy R and FBS( Norman Cook) and one chap in a Centenery Shirt ( and was that HB&B with TIM all over his shirt back and front).

Again, my admiration knows no bounds.....well done one and all.

4:47 for me, pretty pleased for first every marathon, cramp for the last few miles was insanely painful. Great day though.

Well done to all!

Fat Boy doesn't look to good
He was struggling, but was absolutely determined to tough it out and finish.
Gave us a wave despite the pain. :albion1:

There were some fine fillies out there in figure hugging lycra today and the lady in photo 2 proves my point. All in all well worth the effort in going to watch it.

What a brilliant day.

I finished in 4.50ish which I was initially disappointed with (I pulled my hamstring after 19 miles and walked most of the rest) but on reflection I'm pretty pleased with that.

The support from the crowd was brilliant - I got 30 "come on andys" and 120 "come on seagulls" (I was wearing my pink Albion top.)

Big thanks to the many people on here who gave me encouragement along the route.

Very sore and a bit sunburnt - well done to all who took part.

Think I ran past you on the road to Ovingdean. Did you have white earphones in? Was going to shout Seagulls but left it. A little bit ahead I saw some girl with a CPFC flag hanging from her arse.

Plenty of cheerleaders too! On North street I wanted to stop for a bit!

did anyone see Danny Mills ? He was doing the marathon in a wheelchair to raise money for the Spinah bifida association & national disabled supporters. Met him at the Carlisle game and he is a top bloke trying to raise awareness

My target was simply to finish - and I succeeded in that! Really chuffed to be honest, but that's it for me. Never again.

The guy at 22 miles was called Dave. I stood by him and he was an ABSOLUTE BLOODY INSPIRATION. He was giving LARGE motivation to every single person who went by. The bloke whoever he is is a LEGEND. I found it all rather moving.

I find a drive of 26 miles daunting nowadays. To run this is just incredible. You are ALL absolute bloody heroes in my book.
