Yesterday there was a woman on the radio who I think her brother or father was helping in Syria with humanitarian aid. And the government won't let him leave and she criticised the UK government for not doing enough to get him released. I do wonder what they can realistically do? Appreciate other countries have managed to secure release but the UK is higher in the hate stakes but not as powerful as others. If you leave these shores for good or for bad and enter a war zone then surely you appreciate you're on your own to a very large extent? This is one matter I do feel sorry for politicians who obviously can't say anything publically but must be seething at the criticism behind closed doors?!

It's a case of wanting it both ways. Let us fulfil our duty to Allah and cut off a few heads but, when were a bit cheesed off, let us come "home" to continue with our medical degrees or IT jobs. If you decide to ignore the strict rules laid down by the foreign office regarding travelling to this particular war zone then you are committing, at best, serious breach of trust and at worst, treason.

All these boys (and girls) who claim they are on humanitarian missions are just taking the piss. With all these "humanitarians" over there it's amazing anyone had got time for beheading.

I have to say, if I was a dad who's brother had been in Guantanamo bay and two of my three sons had been killed fighting Jihad and the third one was still at it with B52s dropping very large bombs on him I'd probably be thinking long and hard about what's being discussed when I have everyone over for a Halal BBQ during Ramadan...what I probably wouldn't do is appear on the TV moaning about the UK government making it difficult for Islamic warriors to come home on leave.

No there shouldn't. Once we start altering the freedom of the press these terror groups and mentalist preachers have won. What we need is a sensible balanced approach from the British media that doesn't think that Anjem Choudary is a respected community leader (he isn't, he's a hate preacher) and that counters any attempt at Jihadi recruitment in an interview with an equally strong rebuttal.

That said I obviously have to agree with the comments regarding the lack of proper parenting. I'm surprised dear old dad isn't over there himself.
