Brighton Interested In Alsop?

I've just looked up his stats and he scored something like 45 goals in 118 odd games for Cheltenham which is a pretty good ratio.

What div do Cheltenham play in?

In this div clubs have big enough squads to ensure that giraffes are man-marked by their giraffe keeper. We need a target man but not someone who has one element to his game - his height. I'd rather get a central defender and stick with Virgs up front, at least we now defend from the front, something we haven't done for years and years. Alsop gets knackered after 20 minutes of lower div football. I know McGhee can inspire players but he can't give them stamina and pace, especially when you're past it.

It says in the paper today, that he was sacked for commiting a 'lewd' stunt and 3 of the youth team have been suspended as well. Anyone heard what he did?
In answer to my own question, as no one replies to/likes me:-

(from the Oxford Rivals site)
I have reliable sources close to the club (who I can't disclose because they are so bloody important) which tell me that Mr Alsop was given the boot because of an incident with himself, a YTS boy and a banana.

and also:-
A reliable source tells me that Big Jules (perhaps with the help of some others) stripped an unamed Youth Team player bullock naked and locked him outside the Kas Stad. Apparantly it was his Mum (the YT lad's not The Bear's!) who complained about it.

Sounds like he would fit in nicely!...

Seriously, we need a target man, and Virgs needs to drop back to cb...

Who else are we gonna get for zero pounds and zero pence?...

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Worth a look i would think, i seem to remember everyone having a go at the Currie signing as someone with no proven quality at Championship level.....

A trial wouldnt do any harm to assess him.

Could be very handy of Currie's free kick and corner delivery....

Saw Alsop play for Cheltenham a few times (why you ask? - Mrs Snowy supports them) and he is most definitely a donkey. No speed, little skill and definitely not for this division. Makes Mark Farrington look like Ronaldo!

I'm an Albion fan living in Oxford,, who covers the club. No we don't need Julian Alsop. He's a trouble maker who did nothing for Oxford and he's got a weight problem.

Christ, are we really that desperate?

I'm going to ask Insider. As mentioned, I did not say McGhee was after Alsop, but could be as he was interested in his Milwall days. He signed McCammon instead, who is probably equally as immobile. This guy does score goals though.

take a look at our list of strikers:

1 fit player, scored a penalty.
2 youthfull, eager players, but ultimatly not the grade at this time at this level.
1 injured, probably mirror the above if fit anyway.

Yes, we're f'ing desperate.
