Slightly fixtures I know but now on Sky Sports News...

Would be GREAT to get him until the end of the season - if not try and sign him PROPER in the Summer.

Why on EARTH are Leeds letting us borrow him when we are up against them for the play offs?

Are they far SKINTER than they are letting on?

or just INCREDIBLY stupid?

In fairness, he has helped us take points off Walsall and Donny, both of whom Leeds would have seen at the time as more serious challengers than us.

If they let us keep him now, they are pretty thick, though as I understand it, beyond the first month, the parent club has a right to an instant recall which they know could really f*** us up. ie. Because we think we have Westlake, we don't get in a replacement, then the moment th deadline passes, they say 'oops we've changed our minds, we'll have him straight back now please'.

Sneaky bastards.

I thought i heard that Leeds squad was well over the normal size so i guess they are trying to trim the number.
You are right about the fact Leeds should be trying to hinder our progress by not letting Westlake come back.
Could you imagine if we lent one of our players to Southend or Tranmere and he scored the goal that stopped us getting in the play offs?

Well I hope we do keep him as he is clearly class at this level which Leeds don't seem to appreciate.

I wouldn't be surprised if Master Bates is trying it on wanting lots more dosh for an extension and our Dick is trying to be 'prudent'. At the end of the day he has to balance finance over ambition and now is crunch time all ways round.

Leeds have a squad of 35 players!

I think someone may have twoigged that unless they start to offload, they could be back where they started a couple of years ago!

As I understand it, Leeds haven't seen the best of Westlake because they keep playing him out of position. On the other hand, we have seen him at his best. But if Dave is right about their ridiculous squad size, then I reckon Leeds might let us have him at a decent price. I just hope we don't penny pinch when it comes to finalising negotiations because there will be no shortage of other takers.

I'd have to say that we're in a great position for next season if Westlake can be persuaded to sign full time. In all likelihood, we'll be in this division next season where we'll be odds on for a top 6 finish, maybe even better. :)

Abort, retry, fail
Leeds have used 38(!!) different players this season in all competitions.

I really can't see Leeds extending the loan, unless they are very confident that the 15 points will be returned.

Surley not the CL ur talking about there ???

Am hoping "back where they started a couple of years ago" means dropping 2 divisions.

My Leeds supporting fellow commuter informs me he has fallen out with McAllister and McAllister being the stubborn git he is wouldn't play him again even if they were down to the bare bones.

No idea if that's true or not?

How soon is now?
Isn't today the last day that loan deals can be negotiated, I thought I read that on the Argus site a few days back? I think they'd be mad to let us have him, even though he would be subject to an instant recall. Does anybody know how long he is tied to Leeds for? definitely worth a deal at the end of the season

If we were to sign Westy on a full time basis does anyone have any idea how much it would set us back?

Just say that DK smashed our record transfer and splashed around 500k+ on him (Long shot i know) would you be happy?

I think he has another year at Leeds but can't find anything definite on it.

Even if it is loaning him out to a direct competitor wouldn't make a lot of sense. It would be either stupid or supremely arrogant, but it is Leeds so that's very much possible.

Argus yesterday said that if we could extend it Leeds would be able to recall him... ???

If I were Leeds, I would make positive noises until the end of the transfer window hoping that Brighton won't sign anyone else in the hope that they can keep Westlake until the end of the season.

Then, after the Port Vale match, I'd say we wanted Westlake back - leaving Brighton without Westlake and without a back up plan...
